Chapter 23: Before Battle Stress??

—Maru pov—

The skies were grey, and sand swept across the ground through the cliff. I sat down, admiring the deserted landscape. It seemed real, how did this happen? "Is this a dream?" I called out.

"Yes." It said, guiding me off the cliff.

"No." Azumi said, guiding me to land.

I followed Azumi and fell. The pit was deep, but it wasn't a pit, I was falling off the cliff. "What have I done?" I thought as I kept falling.

I woke up and I had one thing on my mind. "This ends tonight." I thought as I walked to get some food.

"Maru what's wrong?" Reiko asked. It was four in the morning.

"Why are you up?" I asked her.

"I'm not tired." She said, chuckling.

"I had a nightmare like every night. They never end." I said as I thought of the cliff. What would have happened if I picked shadow?

—Yui pov—

I decided to make a letter just in case, because I was worried.

Dear Tsuki*

I decided to make a letter like Maru because, I could die (the future told me I would) and I love you. I hope you find someone who appreciates you like I do and I hope you cherish this forever. Please find someone, be happy without me, it's what I would have wanted for you and your future family. I will look over you forever. I am always with you.

I'm glad I finished it and I put in in a special spot on my desk in a specific cupboard. "I would be ok." I thought as I breathed in and out.

"Are you ok love?" Tsuki asked me since she saw me hyperventilating in front of my desk.

"I'm stressed about this battle. Can we defeat it? Will one of us get hurt?" I stressed.

"Everyone except shadow will be fine. We will end it forever." She said, hugging me and kissing my head.

—Alexis pov—

"Almost there." I said, moving my piece on the game board.

"If you win for the sixth time in a row." He teased, rolling his eyes.

"Just admit it and we can stop, I am the best." I said, putting on a fake crown.

"Sureeee princess Alexis." He said, winking. "Also, I've been thinking I want to move for college.

"What?" I said, stopping my turn and staring at him. "You can't leave me."

"Can you come with me?" He said, hugging me.

"Yes, but I'll miss our friends." I said, a tear falling.

—Snow pov—

I was with Juliet, skipping and picking flowers.

"Look I found a rose!" I said, holding it up to me.

"So beautiful!" She said, taking a photo before I felt pain in my eyes.

"Ow!" I said, crying out blood. It ran down my hands and my arm, when I cleaned it off with a towel that was handed to me.

"What happened?" She asked, comforting me.

"Probably that demon. It possessed me." I said, rolling my eyes. I hated it.

"But you're safe now love." She said, holding me close. "You're ok now, no more tears or worry."

Kara pov

"You know about how I was Venus and the sun right?" I proudly said.

"Because you accidentally killed the sun?" Rosa said, rolling her eyes which made me pout.

"You know everything." I muttered.

"Yeah right." She said, hugging me.

"Too close, eek!" I said, my face turning red as she giggled.

"Blush face!" She said, taunting me when we got a knock on the door.

"I'll get it, moon!" I said.

"This is the police, Kara Williams you need to come with us under arrest." A guard handcuffed me and took me to the station.

"You are a hero Kara, you saved us." The force said.

"How did you find out..." I muttered, furious.

"We know everything, little angel." The head of the force said.

"Nati." I said, the guards holding me.

"Kara, quite the change." She said pointing to my hair.

"The fact that I don't have hair isn't the point." I muttered. "How do you know?" I said, sternly.

"I thought about it, and Sam told me." She said, rolling her eyes.

"Of course she did." I muttered.

"Of course this is all live so every angel knows." Nati said, shrugging.

"Well then, nati or should I say, Mercury. You were in relation to a member of the higher court, you threatened me to be your leader, and you murdered me when I was living. I could send you to hell and what can you do about it? Nothing.  I don't want to be a leader, I want to be free, without nonsense. Now let me go you fuckers of police." They let me go and I left them.

"So... all the past guardians." I thought as I left.
