"i'm begging and pleading
i'm dreaming of calling you mine"
- Sexy Drug by; Falling In Reverse

"Hi Jay," All the girls within a mile radius chorused with a sweet smile.

Conie rolled his eyes at them as he walked with Jay, Carlos, Mal, and Evie.

"Hey," Jay replied with his smug smile that should be so irritating instead of so attractive.

"Why do you torture them," Carlos asked. "Just pick someone to take to Cotillion already."

"I'm going solo," Jay answered. "That way, I can dance with all of them."

"Ah! You're the expert-"

"And an asshole," Conie interrupted.

"Oh as if you are doing the same," Jay teased as he threw an arm around Conie's shoulders.

A causal platonic act that he couldn't help wish was more.

"I actually have a date," Conie said.

"What," Both Carlos and Jay exclaimed.

Conie snorted, "I'm just going with Jane. We always go as dates to these things. Unless someone else gets their shit together and asks her."

"Um, speaking of asking someone," Carlos began. "If you were gonna ask someone, what's the best way to go?"

"Listen," Jay stopped put his free hand on Carlos' shoulder. "All you got to do... is look like me or Conie."

"Oh, ha-ha," Carlos rolled his eyes.

Conie couldn't help laugh a bit.

"Mal," Jane called out.

Conie noticed Mal's head snap up as if she was in her own world. She's been a little off recently, Conie had been meaning to talk to her.

"Hey, Jane," Carlos grinned.

"Hey," She smiled backed.

Holy hell just get together already, Conie thought to himself.

Since Jane was one of his best friend he knew that she was hopelessly crushing on Carlos. Though it wasn't really hopeless since Conie knew Carlos liked her back.

But it was also kind of hopeless because neither could tell the other liked them back.

"I was wondering...uh," Carlos glanced around nervously. "If you liked the.... carrot cake last night?"

"I had the pumpkin pie," Jane replied, slightly confused.

Conie sighed and shook his head.

"Oh, cool. Um, uh," Carlos tried again.

Jay started pushing him away, "Smooth."

Conie winked at Jane with a smile, she giggled at him with a wave in return.

He then followed after Carlos and Jay.

--

"All right, boys. Let's line it up," Jay, the new fencing captain, ordered.

Everyone in their sleeveless Auradon hoodies, except Conie who had a long sleeve underneath, made two lines and Conie somehow ended up across from Chad.

"Ready to lose," He asked with a smug face.

Conie only rolled his eyes and put his helmet on.

"Assembler," Jay called out. "Salute. Lower the point. Masks down. En garde."
