"tell me how i'm supposed to be forgiven
with my hand in the hive and the sun in my eyes"
- Broken Boy by; Cage The Elephant

"Conie!"

He heard someone scream his name but he ignored them.

Anger has taken over his brain when this kid, who had been bashing Ben, decided to bring up Jane too. Conie's only two friends.

Of course, he knew this kid was just being rude about loosing the tourney game but this didn't make him any less pissed off.

"Conie," Ben screamed again as he pulled Conie back.

Conie stumbled a bit at the sudden motion. He blinked for a moment as he realized what he had done to the kid.

There was so much blood on his face and he had his arms wrapped around his ribs. Not to mention the tears on his face.

"Come on," Ben said, much quieter this time.

Conie then realized he had blood dripping from his lip, his right eye throbbed, and his knuckles stung.

He let Ben drag him to their team locker room.

Ben leaned against the sink next to the one Conie was using.

The only sound to be heard was the sound of running water as Conie washed his hands and face. He watched the water slowly turn from a dark shade to a light one.

He shut the water off and then it was dead silent.

"Do you want to talk about it," Ben asked softly, clearly concerned for Conie.

Concerned, not even a little mad. Fucking Ben. So kind and sweet that he can't be mad at Conie for bashing someone's face in.

Conie looked at himself in the mirror. He had a split lip and the beginning of a black eye.

"He just started trashing you," Conie stated. "I was gonna walk away, leave it alone, he's just mad that he lost, ya know? But then he brought Jane and... I dunno, I just snapped."

There was silence again.

"Fairy godmother will be understandingly that you were only thinking of your friends," Ben smiled at Conie and touched his shoulder in comfort.

Conie covered Ben's hand with his own.

"I don't need consoling, Ben. I'm not a wild animal."

Ben chuckled, "I know, I just want to make sure you're good."

"I am," Conie hummed, squeezing Ben's hand.

He was anything but good to be honest. He's never been good in his life.

Fairy godmother ended up placing Conie in Remedial Goodness 101, a new class, and sending him to a counseling session.

The counselor just ended up telling him that he was a teenage boy with parental issues. Nothing that he didn't already know.

Fairy godmother would have given him a much harsher punishment if it weren't for the fact this was Conie's first fight and he was her daughter's best friend. So it could have been much worse for Conie.

Though he would be lying if he said he didn't care about the Remedial Goodness class since his classmates would be the four villian kids from the Isle of the Lost.

Not that he was scared of them or anything, he just wasn't good with new people. Well, Conie wasn't good with anyone actually.

But it should be fine. In fact, it might go much better than Conie thought.
