Chapter 18

once you left the building lesso told you to stand on a bench and you did then you hopped on her back it was the most uncomfortable thing ever
y/n - I'd rather walk this is awful
lesso laughed and gently let you down
lesso - I'll just hold your hand then
she interlocked her fingers with yours and you walked past big bright signs and then you saw a little building shorter than the others and it had a sign swinging in between two metal poles like in Gavaldon different to the more modern places
lesso - are you looking at the pub
y/n - is that what its called it looks like a building in Gavaldon
lesso - it's where people go out for a drink
y/n - what like a party?
lesso - sometimes or just for a drink the lady in there is really nice and she's a great drinking buddy
y/n - I don't think I ever want to drink again I thought I was dying the last time
lesso smiled
lesso - everybody and I mean everybody says that but they do it a million more times in there life
y/n - I don't really like it that much anyway the only good part is the floaty feeling but that doesn't last long at all and it doesn't even taste nice
lesso - i know but it's also when your hanging out with friends and you all end up having that feeling stretched for hours it's more fun with people you get along with
you both walked for a bit and a question had brewed in your head thanks to the worker back at kfc
y/n - hey lesso can I ask you something
lesso - yeh course
y/n - what...what are we?
lesso - we can be whatever you want
y/n - that was not helpful...at all
lesso - we can date or if you don't like labels we can just continue with what we're doing or we can be casual
y/n - what do you want
lesso - what I want is to be your girlfriend and I know asking someone to be your girlfriend is a little cheesy but if your asking what I personally want that's what it is
you smiled
y/n - have you been reading my mind again?
she smiled at you
lesso - no but I am right now
she kissed you which is what you was screaming for her to do in your head you stood other people unfazed by it just walking past, in Gavaldon you would both be burned alive but here it was different you could love without the fear of being killed. she pulled away and you looked around at everyone just walking by
lesso - it's legal here don't worry
y/n - I know I'm just happy that I don't have to be afraid to like someone anymore
lesso - let's go get you those snacks yeh
she held your hand again and you got to the corner shop lesso grabbed her favourites but all you knew in that shop was the wine assortments in one isle and the rest you was clueless
lesso - you wanna get anything?
y/n - lesso the only thing I know is the wine bottles I have never seen these things before
you was looking at the crisps biscuits sweets and other things you didn't know and then you saw chocolate
y/n - omg they have chocolate  
lesso - is that what you want
y/n - I don't want it being to expensive lesso you already have a lot in your cart
lesso - baby that's like 50p worth of cheap chocolate you can get the nicer ones
y/n - 50p! that's so much
lesso smiled a little empathetic realising you didn't grow up with casual luxuries like this
y/n - I haven't had chocolate since my 10th birthday
lesso - you can have as much as you want don't worry about the price I am one of the richer people in this area to be honest I could buy this shop in a few months if I worked a little harder
y/n - you mean I can get whatever chocolate
lesso - yes
you grabbed a milk chocolate bar and some chocolate raisins
lesso - is that all you want
y/n - yes
lesso - I don't know if you ever noticed but the school does have a tray of Nutella at the side for teachers but nobody ever uses it
y/n - Nutella is that a type of chocolate
lesso - mhm it's my favourite because it's nutty
y/n - I will have a look tomorrow
you smiled and lesso dropped everything on the counter
cashier - that's £23:00 please
y/n - woah! what!
lesso - y/n calm down it's not that much
lesso pulled out her wallet then pulled out notes you only ever used coins in Gavaldon so you was baffled
y/n - lesso you can't pay with paper that's just mean
lesso - you never seen a £20 note before?
you shook your head
lesso - oh well it is actual money not just paper don't worry I wouldn't do that to someone
she paid and you both spent hours walking around different shops lesso actually brought you some new shoes your converse were not looking great and a snuggle hoodie it was a fluffy hoodie for two people to wear at the same time
y/n - I'm making you wear this tonight
lesso - I know you are
You headed back towards the school with a couple bags each once you got to the gate you looked back at the sunset
y/n - the sunset is really nice here we can never see it in Gavaldon because the trees cover the sky but its very clear here
lesso - it is pretty
y/n - what time is it
lesso - probably around 5 or 6
y/n - will everyone be awake by now?
lesso - no but the fumes will be gone it will be safe to go in there
y/n - ok
lesso - why are you hungry?
y/n - no i was just wondering I'm still full from earlier
lesso - your still full? it's been hours I know we ate a bit but it should have gone down by now
y/n - we ate a lot
lesso - does Gavaldon not have chicken
y/n - yeh but not fried oil is like £3.00
lesso - your probably just not use to the grease then
y/n - yeh it was really nice though
lesso - wait till you try McDonald's
y/n - McDonald's? that's a weird name
lesso smiled and you both went back into the school and lesso locked the gate behind you both
lesso - could we go to the kitchen anyway I'm a bit hungry
y/n - ok
you both went to the hall you have to walk through their to get to the kitchen
y/n - they still have breakfast food up
lesso - yeh you can't eat that though it's been exposed to the fumes so it will have to be thrown out
y/n - but you said the fumes have gone away
lesso - yes but the fumes soak into drinks and food and you would forget the last hour
y/n - oh well I don't want that
you both went to the kitchen holding hands not noticing the one person that had followed you into the hall
