(Y/n)

"(Y/n)."

(Y/n) turns around abruptly. Her eyes widening with shock as she entered her house. There stood the goddess of witchcraft herself, Hecate. (Y/n) breathes out a sigh of relief and begins to take off her heels.

"Mother."

Hecate doesn't seem to be pleased with (Y/n) at the moment. However (Y/n) didn't take that to heart. Hecate was never pleased with her. It was the relationship they had. (Y/n) didn't think of Hecate as her mother often. And has made the point that gods and goddesses don't visit their mortal children as much as Hecate visits her.

"Do you know who you were talking to tonight?"

(Y/n) blows out a sigh and shakes her head. "Are you here to criticize who I talk to now? Is that what's this is about? Really you shouldn't be concerned. I'm not looking for a romantic partner."

Hecate scoffs. "You were talking to Zeus, (Y/n). Not some random mortal. Have you forgotten your fate already?"

(Y/n) pauses in her walk to the kitchen. Of course she hasn't forgotten her fate. How could she when Hecate came to remind her every month? It was a neverending battle with the goddess. With the same issue being present.

(Y/n) reaches up to take the clips from her hair. "No. I have not forgotten, Mother. Really, it's late. I don't see the importance of this conversation." (Y/n) replies.

"It's important because he is the god you're fated with."

(Y/n) pauses in her motions. Before letting her hands drop to her sides. She turns to face Hecate. A look of exhaustion on her face. Hecate doesn't seem to notice however. Her lecture continues.

"You must be careful. You're condition will only worsen. You have read the prophecy. The whole world to go up in flames. Is that what you want, (Y/n)? You want to hurt everyone including yourself? Really, you must be more cautious when you go out. This behavior is unacceptable."

(Y/n) feels her mind sway with the words. There was no forgetting the prophecy. No forgetting what was written by the Fates. But her mother was treating her like a child. As if (Y/n) wasn't capable of handling situations like this. It put (Y/n) in quite the predicament. And she didn't like it.

"I had only talked to him, Mother. It was nothing. The prophecy won't come true." (Y/n) replies.

Hecate's eyes narrow. "The Fates has written it, (Y/n). Don't be naive. You need to control yourself. Really, you shouldn't be going out by yourself. It's far too dangerous. Your condition isn't exactly stable."

(Y/n)'s heart skipped a beat at the thought. Everyone saw her condition as some weakness. Something she couldn't control. And that irritated (Y/n) like nothing else could.

"Will you please stop calling it a condition, Mother? It is not a disease or a disability." (Y/n) pressed.

Hecate rolled her eyes. "It is. You simply couldn't be normal. You had to inherit your father's genes. Couldn't you be a normal demigod?"

(Y/n) sighs and shrugs. "Mother, I am exhausted. This conversation has exhausted me. And I have to get up early for work. So if you excuse me, I am heading off to bed."

(Y/n) purposely walks away then. Leaving her mother no room for further injection. It crossed (Y/n)'s mind that Hecate would be upset with her. Though (Y/n) simply didn't have it in her to care at the moment. Hecate will leave eventually. She always does.
