(Y/n)

"(Y/n), honey!"

(Y/n) whirled around at the sound of the voice. Her thoughts startled and scattering at the sound. Behind her stood her coworker Stephanie. A bright blonde headed lady that screamed happiness from the inside out. The southerner didn't have an ounce of quiet in her. And while the kids appreciated it, most of the staff here didn't.

(Y/n) was fond of Stephanie though. She was hardworking and dedicated. Along with the sweetest personality on the planet. Cindy was also a demigod in plain sight. Which helped the two of them become fast friends. It helped that they could relate to each other on levels other people couldn't.

(Y/n) smiles. "Stephanie. You scared me." She breathes out.

Stephanie laughs. "Shucks sorry darling. I ain't mean to. You got a visitor waiting for you down at the main office. They called my classroom instead of yours." Stephanie says.

(Y/n) nods. "Right. Right. Thanks for letting me know."

(Y/n) stands; brushing off her light blue jeans. She gave Stephanie a smile and then made her way down to the first floor. (Y/n) didn't get many visitors at her job. Hecate didn't come here. And there was no one else that wanted to visit her at the elementary school. But (Y/n) was secretly hoping it's a certain someone coming to see her.

To (Y/n)'s dismay, it's not who she's hoping for. Standing in the lobby area of the school stood a tall woman. With black hair the color of licorice and soft brown eyes. A supermodel in a sense. What she was doing here at Burling Elementary School? (Y/n) didn't have a clue.

The woman crossed those soft brown eyes at (Y/n). Her eyes lost all the softness that embodied them as soon as (Y/n) came into the lobby. (Y/n) didn't know what she did to this lady. Was she a relative to one of her students? She couldn't be a parent. (Y/n) knew each of her students' families.

"Are you (Y/n)?" The woman seethed.

(Y/n) steps forward tentatively. "I am. Can I help you with anything?"

The woman glares. "You and I are due a talk."

"Do I know you? Are you a relative of any of the kids? Or a concerned parent-."

The words started to die on (Y/n)'s tongue as she continued to stare at the lady before her. Almost in an instant, she realized who she was talking to. Her ADHD mind blanking and coming into focus without second thought. In front of her was Hera, the queen of the gods.

(Y/n) had to fight with herself from bowing in front of the staff at the school. Honestly she didn't understand what she could've done to upset Hera. (Y/n) wasn't like one of the loud mouth demigods. She didn't brandish a sword or dagger and declare war with every god she meets. (Y/n) stuck to herself. There were more important things to worry about.

"Why don't we take this talk outside?" (Y/n) breathes out. Being as polite as she could.

Hera turned her nose up at (Y/n). As if she couldn't bring herself to even look at the mortal. Though the goddess nods. (Y/n) gives the secretaries a smile and leads Hera out of the building.

The wind blows heavily at the two. Almost as if there was a storm brewing somewhere. (Y/n)'s mind flits around Zeus once more. Almost without her being able to help it. And then the thought scatters away. Empty thoughts, (Y/n) reminded.

"You're the mortal destined to be with Zeus aren't you?" Hera asks.

(Y/n) swallows hard. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

Hera's glare became more intense. "Don't lie to me mortal."

(Y/n) felt her mind scatter even more. She couldn't keep track of a single thought. She could feel the flicker of heat. And Hera being here wasn't making anything else better. She was already having an off day. Now Hera was making it worse.

Hera sneers down at (Y/n). "You know mortal, Zeus will never love you. Why would he love a mortal like you? You're incompetent and not on our level. I advise you to stay away. For your own good of course. We don't need things to get ugly now do we?"

(Y/n) felt her stomach knot up. A flare of anger flushes in her chest. "With all due respect, it's not like I picked for me to be the prophecy. I can't do anything about it."

Hera scowls. "You will if you know what good for you."

And then Hera storms off. (Y/n) watched Hera go. Her hands were starting to shake. Mind going in different directions. She could smell something burning. And when she looked down the sleeves of her jacket was starting to go up and flames.

A set panic washed over (Y/n). An empty mind. An empty mind. An empty mind. But no matter how much she chanted that saying over and over, (Y/n) couldn't clear her mind out. So the next best thing was to get away.

(Y/n) takes hurriedly strides back to her classroom. Her breath came out in short gasps. Though she tried to hide it the best she could. (Y/n) doesn't stop to talk to anyone else, she hurriedly grabs her stuff and clocks out. Grading papers will have to wait. Doing a lesson plan will have to wait. It wasn't as important as getting away.

The walk to the train station felt like it took forever. The train ride felt like an eternity. The car ride home couldn't go on any longer. (Y/n) was practically bouncing from the nerves. She rushed to her room and locked the door. Sinking to the floor as she clutched onto herself.

An empty mind. An empty mind. An empty mind. Don't think. Don't think. Don't think. An empty mind. An empty mind.

"(Y/n)! (Y/n)!"

(Y/n) brought her head up to see Hecate standing there. A look of worried on her face. Smoke billowed in the air. Clouding so much you couldn't see the ceiling. Fire raged around them. Burning everything in sight. And engulfed in the flames was (Y/n) herself.

"Mother."
