"Are you serious?" I gave Cason disbelieving look.
I fought the urge to tell him that I was only joking, when a panicked look flashed across his features.
He started to stutter out incoherent words, which finally made me tell him.
"Of corse, I will testify. I love you and if he hurt you, I will do everything in my power to put his butt right where he belongs; in jail." I finished and hugged him.
A smile slowly crept it's way on to his face and, I must say, that is was the most adorable thing I had ever seen. His lips crashed down on to my own, without a seconds hesitation.
I reacted quickly by wrapping my arms around his neck, pulling him into me at the same time. When we did break apart the kiss, we were fast to pull each other into an embrace.
"I love you." Cason whispered into the crook of my neck.
"I love you too," I said whilst smiling. "but, I want ice cream." I blurt randomly.
A look of utter confusion crept it's way onto Cason's face. He quickly shakes it off as he chuckles loudly.
"Then let's go get ice cream, love." He sniggers.
I smile in delight as I thought about the delicious, cold, treat. I could almost picture the cookie dough ice cream sitting in front of me just waiting for me to devour it. I really, really, love ice cream.
Cason grabs my hand and walks me to his mothers SUV and we drive to the nearest ice cream shop; which happened to be called, wait for it, Utterly Ice Cream.
We walk into the shop and I order my cookie dough deliciousness while Cason orders a thing called Peanut Butter Delight. We sat at one of the booths, eat our ice cream and, stare out of the window at the stars speckled across the sky.
I realize that Cason hasn't really experienced my love for ice cream so he needed to know how I felt about it.
"So, Cason," I say with an all-to-serious tone. "I love you and all but, you really have to know your place."
He falters slightly and I realize that may have sounded like the beginning to a break up line.
"Here me out," I continue, my tone not wavering. "I love ice cream more. I mean if this ice cream right here," I motion towards my cone. "turned into a man, I would marry it, right here, right now."
He gives me a playful look and asks "So, you will just forget me?"
"Absolutely." I remark. "I would erase you from all my memories to make room for my cookie dough groom."
I want to congratulate myself for not laughing throughout that entire speech, but just as I am about to do so, I burst out laughing as does Cason.
After we finished our laughing fits and we become neutral again I remind him the moral of my exclamation from earlier.
"But, seriously though, learn your place."
~*~*~*~
"All jokes aside," Cason starts as we enter the vehicle, after our ice cream. "the trial is in two days and I'll be at your house at six o'clock, sharp."
I frown immediately at that.
"In the morning?" I nearly screech.
He nods I'm return. "If you want me to be there earlier for you, I could. Also you have to look really business-like. Like you are thirty years old and you just walked out of your office-"
