Myra's P.O.V.
After my very embarrassing shout out, the bell rang and I went to second period. Yay, pre calculus my favorite. Note the sarcasm. I was just about to go to Mr. Miller's class when I was stopped by Cason.
"Oh..uhh.. Hey Cason." I stuttered... Why was I stuttering? Why does he make me nervous?
"Hello.. umm, Myra do you know where Mr. Miller is?" He tries the name on his tongue.
"Oh, yeah. I was just heading there now, it's my next class." I inform him.
"Can I go with you?" He asks. His bright blue eyes were filling with hope.
"Why wouldn't you be allowed to?" I chuckle. "Come on."
"Thank you, thank you, thank you! I really thought you would say no!" He grins.
"Um, why would I say no?"
I query.
"Oh that girl," he says pointing to Stacy, the 'queen bee' of our school. "She told me not to hang around you because you were a.. Umm, how should I say this? Well she said you were a... female dog?" What he tells me doesn't surprise me, Stacy hated my guts, but I didn't really know why.
I shrug. I'm not really one to care about what people think of me.
"Wait... you're not mad?" He asked, surprised.
"Nah, I don't care about what she thinks of me, drama isn't my thing. And after all it takes one to know one!" I start laughing at my own joke.
I don't stop, because I'm one of those people who don't stop laughing once they start. I replay my words over and over again in my head and it only makes me laugh harder. Man, I'm really funny! Right now I'm doubled over in laughter in front of a teenage boy. I look up to see that he's smiling and staring at me. I realize I have been laughing for like five minutes and if I don't hurry, Cason and I will be late!
I grab Cason's hand and start running. I try to ignore the weird tingly feeling I have in my hand. I make a right turn and I'm in my pre calculus class just as the late bell rings.
"Boom! We made it!" I yell.
Cason chuckles. I look down to see that his hand is still in mine. I smile. I then proceed to look up to see that everyone including Mr. Miller was staring at us oddly. I begin to pull him to an open table with two chairs when suddenly a foot clad in pink high heels comes out of no where and try's to trip me.
I hope these are soft floors. Just as I am about to hit the ground Cason's arms jut out and save me. His eyes were filled with concern as he asked if I was alright. I shook my head and my eyes landed on the the person who was wearing the heels. Stacy.
I chuckle.
"Sorry Stacy, But you can't trip ninjas, especially female dog ninjas!" I throw her words back at her and watch as her face goes red.
I'm not sure whether it was red because of anger or embarrassment.
She stands up.
Hmm... Defiantly anger.
She comes face to face with me.
"You little b-" she growls but was cut off by someone clearing there throat. Ha, she was saved by Mr. Miller. I feel two arms wrap around me and pick me up. They carried me to an empty seat and set me down.
Who just touched me, I swear I will punch them in the face right now!
I see a flash of blonde hair and automatically know it's Cason.
This is awkward, I was just about to punch him... Whoops.
He sits down next to me and shakes his head chuckling.
"You really know how to handle yourself, Winters." He smiles.
"Thanks, I guess." I mean, what are you supposed to say to that?
The teacher claps his hands together and smiles brightly.
"Now that that's over with lets get to the basics! My name is Mr. Miller, I'm from New York, and my favorite thing is math! Now let's go one by one, everyone introduce yourself!"
He was really enthusiastic. His attitude made me smile.
I started chatting with Cason until my turn came around.
I smile widely and say
"My name is Myra Winters, I'm from Texas, and my favorite thing is music!"
Cason was next, and I was genuinely interested in what he had to say.
"Hello, my name is Cason Willis, I'm from Great Britain and, my favorite thing is art." He smiles sheepishly.
Most of the girls swoon. Ew!
Um they obviously don't know about cooties!
"Well since you two both have last names that start with a W, you will sit together okay?" Mr.Miller tells us. "Also, for the rest of class, enjoy yourselves!
Meet everyone in the room and then talk to your buddies! Have fun guys! If you have any questions about this class please feel free to ask. I don't bite!" He smiles.
"So... What now?" Cason asks.
I was just about to answer when I was stopped by Mr. Miller.
"I almost forgot! Here's today's homework. If you turn it in today you we get extra credit! You cannot turn it in with any blank spaces because I will not accept it!"
He says.
Cason's eyes light up and he sings , well more like shouts,
"I've got a Blank Space, baby! And I'll write your name!" He winks at the end which causes me to laugh.
"Well w-we could d-do that." I say through my laughs.
The class gives him an odd look before Mr. Miller says
"Cason Willis... Really?" He shakes his head. "Did you really just quote Taylor Swift in my room?" He tries to hold a straight face before laughing to I like Mr. Millers style! I mean, he could be a stuck up butt face.
After a few more minutes of talking the bell rings, so I grab my stuff and get ready to head to lunch with Cason. I step into the hallway and spot the familiar curly brown headed Chelsea. I wave to her and shout at her. She looks up at me then at Cason before giving me a cold glare and stomping away.
Still confused, I yell at her.
"Chelsea! What's wrong? Are you okay?"
She ignores me and steps into the restroom and slams the door in my face. I stand there, shocked. Cason grabs my hand and gives me a sympathetic look.
"Come on, she probably just need some time alone." He whispers into my ear.
I don't say anything but I nod.
What's wrong with her? She's my best friend, shouldn't I know what's wrong with her?
Cason looks at me and starts rubbing our intertwined hands with his thumb. I calm down, almost instantly. I force a smile and sit down at a lunch table.
I really hope I didn't do anything wrong. I frown.
