(Cason's P.O.V.)With every time I replayed the word 'Guilty' in my head, I still couldn't believe that I was safe. I couldn't believe that I wouldn't have to keep looking over my shoulder to see if David was lurking in the shadows.
I could finally be completely happy with life. I was finally safe and that was more than I could ever ask for.
Considering that I had Myra, I think I would be put into the category of lucky. I'm not afraid to admit that she saved me. In this case she was the 'knight' and I was the one in the castle, guarded by the dragon. It couldn't always be said that men were 'stronger' because sometimes it was the girl who saved us from our scariest nightmares and helped us see through the darkest part of night.
That is why I loved Myra. I loved her for all the little things she did, the way she found the bright side of each situation, the way she hid here true feeling about the trial and how she tried to be strong for me. I loved how she was the definition of perfect.
I even loved the little Christmas dance she was doing.
It seemed normal as it was Christmas Eve, but I still found it cute. Suddenly, she turned and gave me a strange look.
"What are you doing? Stop giving me that weird look and get your British butt over here to dance with me!" She teased as she held out her hand.
I was quick to grab her tiny hand and start twirling her around.
We were at her house and we were crowded by her family and friends for a festive Christmas Eve party. My mum was even her and I saw that she was conversing happily with Myra's mum. I could tell that they were talking about us because of the way that they both were sneaking glances at us. They were both smiling and my mums eyes were brighter than ever.
I spun Myra one last time as the upbeat music came to a stop. She smiled widely as we walked back to the arrangement of tables that had been set up. I pull her chair out and then take a seat on mine.
I grabbed her hand and just hold it, content that she was with me.
"Dinner is ready everyone!" Myra's mum's voice rang clear.
It took only a few seconds for people to start shuffling to the dining table that was set up outside, accompanied by Christmas lights.
There was an entire chicken and many other side dishes nearly placed on the table. As people began to sit down, Myra and I patiently waited. As soon as all the seats were filled, Myra ran inside and grabbed blankets for everyone else to sit on.
I set the soft blanket down after we grabbed our food. We both sit on it and gaze at the stars whilst eating our food. Not a single word was exchanged throughout our entire meal but, I'll assure you that there was a lot of staring at Myra done by me.
She looked gorgeous in the dim light created by the moon, stars and the Christmas lights. It was adorable how her dark long brown hair swept to the left side of her face and covered her hazel eyes.
She turned quickly at me and gave me her signature smirk.
"Would you stop staring at me like that? I mean I know I look good but, come on, my family is right there!" She joked, lightly.
I smiled, even though I felt the light blush creep up on my face.
"But you're just too beautiful." I say, mirroring her smirk.
