What?!

I was out of the safety of my warm bed in a heartbeat. Today was the trial and Cason was going to be here in and hour and twenty-nine minutes!

I had to shower and get dressed and try my hardest not to have a panic attack, in that short amount of time. I knew it was going to stressful day.

I took a quick, cold, shower as I try to calm my nerves. When I get out, I dry my hair, brush my teeth and I get dressed in my outfit; which consisted of a white, floral, pencil skirt, a ruffled black blouse and, a pair of black high heels. I added a couple of bracelets, not really focusing on the accessories. However, I do add the heart necklace that Cason gave me for our 'make up' two month anniversary.

When I'm done getting dressed I try to put on some simple, natural looking make up while I also try to control my labored breathing.

I pull my hair up into a tight bun, so that not a single piece of hair was out of place.

I tried counting my breaths and eventually I calmed down, just in the knick of time as well, because the shrill ring of my phone echoes through my house.

I pick it up and immediately answer when I see that it's Cason.

"Hello." I attempt to steady my voice through the simple greeting.

"Hey," He mutters an I can instantly tell that he was tired. "I'm right outside your house."

I nod, forgetting that he can't see me and I tell him "Okay."

We both hang up shortly after that. I breath through my nose one last time before putting up my 'Everything is going to be okay' walls, once again.

When I walk down the stairs I see Cason making and my parents talking in hushed voices.

Cason was in a full three piece suit and he looked dashing. But now was not the time for that.

When I came into their line of sight, my parents stopped and gave me sad smiles.

My parents were coming to the trial but, they weren't testifying so there was no need for them to come early.

My mother grabbed my hands and pulled me into a hug. Then she kissed the top of my forehead. My mother then did the same thing to Cason, but she had to stand on her tippy toes to reach his forehead.

Cason flashed her a grateful smile but, I noticed how his eyes were not bright and instead they were dull.

My father, gave me a hug and kiss, then only hugged Cason.

"Good luck, you two." My dad voiced.

"We both love you." My mother reminded us.

Cason I bid our goodbyes and headed to the SUV. Cason's mother was in the driver seat and I also observed her gloomy expression that matched her son's.

I would be doing the same, if not for my brain constantly reminding me that I had to be strong for Cason.

Cason and I get into the back seat an I was quick to place my hand in his and give it a reassuring squeeze.

"Would you like anything?" Cason's mother asks as we go through the drive thru of Mc Donald's.

"Uh, n-no thanks." I stutter.

My appetite was completely out of the picture because I was to focused on what will be taking place in a few short hours.

She just nods understandingly as she tells the person her order, as her son also declined the offer for food.

After she eats, we start driving again and it was straight to the court house.
