Ratchet & Clank AU: The Black Knight.(No More Updates. Ideas On Last Chapter)

Chapter 4

(A/N: Hey there folks! Sorry for not updating a story in previous weekend, but I was sick and didn't had energy to write. To fix this, here you will get two chapters in the row. Have fun!)

A few hours after meeting Athena and her son, Alister and Rachan decided to take a little break with both robots. While the woman said it was a waste of time and they had to hurry to check on the being trapped inside the temple, the former Praetorian convinced her to stay, mainly to be able to examine Rachan's transformed hand more closely.

Once they found a safe place, Athena scanned the young Lombax for a the Corruption, while Alister kept an eye on the area. Through it all, Xavier was still unconscious.

After a few minutes, the robotic woman completed the examination. She had one good news and one bad news. The good thing was that the Corruption didn't spread to other parts of the body, which was both a miracle and a surprise. The bad news was that the chance of restoring the hand to its original form was very, very slim. This saddened Rachan, who began to fear what the people of Kyzil would think of him. Alister quickly calm his godson, hugging him and telling him that everything would be fine.

After a few more minutes, it was decided that the entire group had rested enough and should move on. At the same moment, Xavier woke up and was very confused by what was happening around him. Athena explained everything and introduced him to Alister and Rachan. The two kids befriend quickly, mainly because they were intrigued by each other's races.

After heading deeper into the temple, the entire team encountered several groups of monsters that had previously attacked Alister. Athena revealed that these creatures were the Loki, a race from the Polaris Galaxy whose goal is to conquer other races via taking control of every living individual.

Alister and Athena were mainly involved in the fighting, while Rachan and Xavier stood somewhere away. However, both kids were not defenseless and supported their caretakers with ranged attacks, Rachan by firing from his OmniWrench rifle mode, while Xavier was sending energy projectiles. This helped a lot in many other encounters.

On their way into a deeper part of the temple, the kids managed to find a room where Athena's followers stored gifts on her behalf. Driven by the desire for adventure and treasure, Rachan and Xavier went inside and began searching through the chests for items, despite Athena saying no to this. They managed to find things like two short blades that were producing an intense heat, and an axe that freezes anything it touches.

This small adventure also made Ratchet create a nickname for Xavier which was "Clank", because the little bot hit his head a few times while opening the chests.

Later, our four heroes reached the chamber where, according to Athena, a very dangerous being was trapped.

It was a huge room with various statues next to each walls, all of them facing into the middle of the room. There was a huge, purple crystal that was levitating. As soon as Rachan saw it, his transformed hand started hurting, like it was tearing itself from his body.

Suddenly There was a dark, evil aura around the crystal and the two purple eyes appeared inside of it.

"Look who it is. Athena, my dear host. I haven't seen you for several thousand years. That's not how you should treat a guest, don't you think? Even if they are a prisoner," said the trapped being. His deformed voice sounded powerful and demonic. Just hearing it sent chills down everyone's spine. Rachan could swear that he is hearing this voice not only via his ears, but also inside his head.

Athena walked up to the crystal and glared at him with fury.

"Paratir. I can't say that I'm satisfied with this meeting. I hoped that you would somehow rot and languish in your prison. It seems that not all dreams come true," she said, her voice full of hatred.
