Chapter 15

You must know that many people had trouble guessing Arthur's intentions. Sometimes he was guided by logic, sometimes by intuition, and sometimes by emotions. This bothered many people, even the ruler of Camelot himself. Because of this quirk of his, he often wondered whether he had made the right decisions. Like taking Mordred, his son and nephew, under his wing to relieve Morgana le Fay, his adoptive sister and lover all in one, of some responsibilities. He knew perfectly well that people would talk and that many of his political opponents would be happy to exploit this relationship between Arthur and Mordred, but fortunately he never cared about this and had any reason to regret this decision.

He had the same dilemma now, during his journey to Fay Forest. After talking to Merlin and Lancelot about this trip, words of doubt were raised more than once. You see, Arthur has not had very good relations with the rulers of this forest, specifically with King Oberon. Once upon a time, the Lord of Castle of Camelot was invited to a feast in the forest to celebrate the coming of age of Titania and Oberon's daughter, Rey. Everything was going great, there was fun, drinking, eating, lots of great things. But as we know, such parties also include alcohol, and Artur drank one too many that day. The drunken ruler of Camelot began flirting with various fairies of the opposite sex, including the queen herself. This, of course, did not please Oberon, who first tried to tame his guest, but when the latter hit him under the influence of alcohol, things turned out much differently. Ultimately, the Fairy Royals banned the Netherlings from entering their forest, which severely impacted the economy of few magical items from that place.

And Arthur now needs to return there.

"You know... I think I may have left some unsigned contracts that are VERY urgent. Let's go back to the castle and we'll come back here another time, okay?" said the Lord of Camelot, his voice slightly trembling.

He was accompanied on this journey by a small entourage, mainly consisting of Lancelot, Merlin, Roland and Adam. Hearing the tone of his friend's voice, Lancelot decided to take advantage of this opportunity.

"What is that? Has our lord and ruler turned out to be a coward? Shall I bring you a teddy bear to cuddle, Arthur?" said the Knight of the Round Table, occasionally making a chicken noise at his friend.

"Hahaha. Very funny, Lance. They will only warn you not to approach them. I, on the other hand, may be impaled on a stick and thrown into the abyss. I have no intention of becoming a shishkebab."

After a few minutes of traveling, the entire entourage reached the entrance to the Fairy Forest. They tied their horses to the trees and then went inside. From the outside, this forest looks like any other. But it's only inside that the magic happens, literally. Birds singing so beautiful it could hypnotize, fireflies shimmering with many colors, plants whose petals resembled the starry sky. The scenery is like from a fairy tale. However, despite these beautiful views, our heroes did not have time to watch them.

They didn't have to wait long before the fairies suddenly appeared from behind the trees, dressed in their exotic armor and armed with bows, swords and spears. Without a second thought, Adam placed himself between them and Arthur, wanting to protect his master and shouting that he would attack if anyone came near. Seeing this, the ruler of Camelot raised his hands in surrender, which the others did as well except Adam.

"We want to meet Queen Titania. We need her magical knowledge to help one of us," said Arthur, pointing to Roland.

The fairies looked at the young guard and initially did not know what's going on. Only when they saw Roland's hand did their behavior change. Fear and terror appeared in their eyes, some even shook like jelly. This reaction surprised the Camelot team, who didn't know what was going on. Suddenly one of the Fairies, probably the Captain, approached them.
