Erik glanced at the brunette next to him. He was a little wary of her mainly because she wielded energy like Shaw. However, she seemed to want the same things as him and he would have to trust her for now. Erik looked over at her and couldn't help but admire her beauty which she was.
Both mutants sat in a hotel room and stared at the picture of Shaw that was pinned to the map. A knife and a metal coin hit the picture at the same time and both mutants looked at each other before chuckling. It was rare to find someone who understood the anger they had.
Erik had discovered that Shaw was on a ship more specifically his yacht in Miami, Florida. Both mutants snuck up to it and Erik pulled a knife while Devana gathered her energy in her hand. Erik and Devana looked at each other before nodding and moving so Shaw could see them. Devana allowed Erik to speak first "Herr Doctor," Erik moved so that Shaw and his companions could see both of them.
His companions a man and a woman both stood up aiming to protect Shaw which made both Erik and Devana scowl and growl at the idea of anyone protecting that monster of a man. Shaw looked at Erik "little Erik Lehnsherr." He then looked at Devana "I know him but I have no clue who you are."
Erik held back his anger long enough to let Devana speak "I am Devana Finley. You tortured and killed my father."
"So I did," Shaw spoke causing Devana and Erik to get even angrier knowing that this man had no remorse for the pain that he had caused them.
Erik moved closer and the woman next to Shaw moved her eyes to Erik causing Erik to scream out in pain and drop to his knees. Devana had had enough and used her energy to create a shield between her and Erik and Shaw.
Slowly, the pain in Erik's head eased and he stood up shaking his head before nodding to Devana in thanks. Devana and Erik backed up before jumping into the water. Erik grabbed the metal chains and used them to toss the anchor straight at Shaw's ship destroying it with the help of Devana's energy that wrapped around the ship maximizing the damage.
It was then that both Erik and Devana noticed the submarine under the ship. Erik immediately let go of the anchor and grabbed onto the submarine. Erik heard someone scream "let it go" but Erik wasn't capable of it. His anger was too great.
Erik looked at Devana "help me." Devana nodded and both allowed themselves to go completely under the water attempting to keep a hold of the submarine. Devana wrapped it in her energy and used most of her energy to keep it stationary.
All of a sudden both mutants felt someone enter their mind "I know how much this means to both of you but if you don't let it go then you will die."
Erik and Devana let the submarine go reluctantly before surfacing and being pulled onto another ship. They both looked at the man they knew had been in their mind. Erik spoke for the both of them "you were in my mind."
The man nodded "I wouldn't have done it if you weren't in danger."
Erik looked at him "you're like us. We thought we were alone."
The man smiled "No, you're not alone." Erik and Devana looked at each other warily as they headed back to shore. Even more warily as they got into a car and were taken to the CIA headquarters.
As the two superpowered mutants stepped out of the car they locked hands for comfort. It made both of them feel better that someone they knew and trusted was there. A man appeared as all of them walked "Shaw or Schmidt as you call him is working with the Russians. We might need you to help us stop him."
Devana and Erik looked at each other warily knowing that this could end badly. Especially because of the fact that governments tend not to care about the people and instead only care about the powers.
Both powerful mutants looked around the room and figured out real quick that this was either going to end really well or really badly. As they turned to look at each other they came to a silent agreement that they would work with these other mutants until they caught Shaw and then they would go their own way.
