Marianne POV
After about half an hour of being on Jake's bike, we finally made it to the beach across town. I got off the bike and handed Jake his helmet "Is my hair messed up?" I asked him, he looked at me and shook his head. "Well..." He ran his hand through my hair a few times "Now you look perfect" He got off of his bike. "So all of your friends are going to be here?" I asked him. "And my sister," He looked at me "She could be a bit... protective so don't take anything personally." He gave me a small smile and grabbed my hand.
We made our way down onto the beach and everyone greeted us with some kind of congratulations or smile. I smiled back at all of Jacob's friends and family. "Marianne~" Nina hugged me "Congratulations!" She pulled away from me and smiled. I of course hugged back "Thank you." I said with a smile as big as hers on my face. Out of everyone here, I know that I can be comfortable with Nina. "Can I see the ring?" She asked and I nodded allowing her to grab my hand. "Oh, it's so pretty." Nina examined the ring. "Jake made it... I really like it." I said back to her. She introduced me to the girlfriends of the boys and by the next few hours, they were all throwing ideas out for my wedding. I couldn't help but notice the two girls that were off to themselves that refused to come over to talk.
Hours passed before I started to notice the sun started to set and the boys started to make a bonfire. Usually, I would be up under Jake but the girls surrounded me once I sat down. "You know you'll be great for Jake, I'm sure the two of you would be very happy with each other." Kim said to me. I had learned that she was Jared's girlfriend. "I'm sure he's great for me too..." I smiled at them and glanced over at Jake. He was wrestling with Embry with not a care in the world. As always the conversation became too much for me to handle so I started to zone out.
A few minutes passed, and a girl standing in front of me broke me out of my trance "You're Marianne... I'm Rachel, Jacob's sister." She said eyeballing me. I stood up "Oh, hi." I gave her a smile. There was a brief look of annoyance on her face but it passed as soon as it came. "I think I remember you when I was youn-" I started before she cut me off. "I guess you'd be good enough." She walked back over to the girl with the scarred face and sat down. I guess she doesn't like me. I sat back down and got back into the conversation with the rest of the girls.
Not too long after the boys came over and sat down. The girls that were talking to me moved to their boyfriends while Jacob sat next to me. "Hey, Sunshine." He smiled at me. I smiled back and brought my hand up to his hair getting some of the sand out "Sandboy." I teased before bringing my hand back down on my lap. He tried to shake the rest of the sand out of his hair and I just laughed a bit watching. "God, you're such a nincompoop." I helped him with the rest of the sand that was in his hair. "I'm just going to assume that means I'm hot," He wrapped his arm around my shoulder with a smirk on his face. "Something like that..." I moved closer to his body trying to get all of the body heat from him that I could.
"So what's up with you and The Cullens?" Paul looked over at me. I looked back at him "What do you mean?" I asked him. "Edward... I mean it's not a secret that the two of you are around each other a lot." He answered my question when I was expecting him to drop it. "Oh... just friends... and I don't really hang out with him all that much-" I was cut off by Rachel scoffing before standing up and walking away from the fire. Paul stood up almost as fast as her and followed. Jacob glanced down at me with a look of pity on his face. Embry cleared his throat before picking up a guitar "Music anyone?" He asked before everyone agreed.
By the end of the night, I was saying my goodbyes to the group "Call me if you need anything," Kim wrapped her arms around me "You already feel like family." She pulled away. I nodded "Vice versa." I hugged her back. After saying goodbye to her Nina hugged me "Again I'm so happy for you~ and I hope I'm one of your bridesmaids." She pulled away after a few seconds of us hugging. I laughed a little and said my goodbyes one more time before Jacob pulled me over to his bike. "Burgers for dinner? Then we could go back to my place to hang out." He asked me and I nodded. "Sounds good." I voiced and got on the bike after him.
