Chapter 17

Josh POV

I shoot up with the Animus still on my head. I take the headset off and look around, thankfully everything seemed normal for now. I groan before standing up and walking out of the room into the kitchen/living room where I see Caitlan on the couch watching tv. She turns around and sees me so she pauses it and walks up to me.

Caitlan: You figured out anything?

Josh: There's an Isu civilization under Beacon and Ozpin and Y/n were the last Isu. How long was I in there for this time?

Caitlan: Nearly a full week.

Josh: *sigh* Fuckin' great. I've got the bleeding effect.

Caitlan: For fuck sake, Josh! Didn't it give you any warnings?!

Josh: I think you should know by now, I don't listen to them.

Caitlan: You better stay out of the Animus for a while. By that I mean a week.

Josh: Caitlan-

Caitlan: No excuses, Josh. Your mental health is more important than finding Ozpin.

I knew I couldn't win so I reluctantly agree and walk to our room and fall on my bed. Caitlan brought me some water and some food for me and once I had eaten and drunken all of it I fell asleep on my bed, exhausted.

[1 week later]

It had been a week since I came out of the Animus. Caitlan did everything to help me recover from the bleeding effect, thankfully it wasn't that bad. The worst I got from it were hyper realistic nightmares. Once the bleeding effect wore off I returned to the Animus, hoping not to have to deal with an even worse state of the bleeding effect.

Y/n POV

A week after the investigation we narrowed down the Templar stronghold was in the southeast somewhere. Professor Goodwitch asked my team to go against Pyrrha who would be fighting us alone. We agreed to fight her but apparently Goodwitch wanted it to be a surprise to everyone so she asked us to remain on the seats until we were given a sign to come down. After much waiting on the seats, Pyrrha came out of the lockers fully armoured and ready. She seemed confused on where her opponents were.

Pyrrha: Uh, Professor? Where are my opponents?

Goodwitch: Oh they're here. Can the top team in Beacon please stand and enter the ring?

I smirk at her idea before my team and I stand and jump into the ring with our weapons out. Pyrrha appeared to be at a loss for words but quickly readied herself and stood in a fight stance.

Ezio: Just to be clear, we will not be holding back.

Haytham walked out with a tablet and started the countdown for our match along with putting up our aura levels on the screen. Once the timer struck zero, she charged at us but I told my team to stand their ground. I whisper to Ezio to use his semblance when we split up to make two versions of me to confuse her. Everyone split up and Pyrrha threw her shield at me just as Ezio used his semblance making it seem like it was mine. The real version of me caught the shield and threw it back with incredible speed but she managed to catch it and throw it back but I was turned invisible by Kassandra's semblance making it seem like Ezio's semblance wore off. Suddenly the shield cut the copy of me in half silencing the entire amphitheater. I smirk and run at Pyrrha as Kassandra deactivated her semblance making me visible again. I manage to get multiple strikes in before I was kicked away.

Pyrrha: You... actually hit me.

Y/n: No one's untouchable.

I ran at her along with Kassandra and Alexios while the others began to surround her. Kassandra throws her spear at Pyrrha but Pyrrha dodges it and collides swords with Alexios'. I take her by surprise by sliding between her legs and grabbing her left leg before throwing her toward Altaïr. He got multiple strikes in before throwing her to the center of the ring where we all surrounded her. Pyrrha noticed she was outmatched and put her weapons on her back.

Pyrrha: I forfeit.

We all put out weapons away while the entire room was silent in shock and amazement. Whispers were exchanged between the students at our performance and victory over Pyrrha.

Goodwitch: Now, students, take notes of this sparring match on what Ms. Nikos did right and wrong along with [insert team name]. Dismissed.

My team and I run toward the walls and climb up out from the ring and walk out of the amphitheater. We were joined by RWBY who were constantly asking questions on how we beat Pyrrha, how my team made it seem I have multiple semblances, well I do but that's not the point, and how we did it effortlessly. The others explained what we did to confuse her before ultimately coming out victorious in the end. Sun attempted to ask Blake out to some dance this weekend but Yang got defensive and Blake ultimately said the dance can go fuck itself before walking off.

Y/n: Someone's in a mood.

I get a smack in the head from Altaïr for my remark. Then, team NDGO came over and to no one in my teams surprise, Gwen and Octavia asked Connor to the dance while Dew and Nebula asked Edward. Of course, the Kenways accept the offer before we return to our dorm room where I kinda just picked on the two the whole way. Once we got their, I walk to the balcony and take a deep breath of the air while the sun slowly sets on today. I walk back inside and head to my room where I fall onto my bed and pass out from exhaustion. I wake up in what seemed to be a habitable Onyx but it was completely empty. I walk around the literal ghost town before coming across a large horde of Grimm that came running at me. I reach for my sickles but come to find them not on me which is when I begin to panic. I start to back away but I slowly back into those two Templar Knights who both have their weapons out. They both go in to attack but I shoot awake out of fear. I look at the time and see it's 11:20 in the morning. I groan and reluctantly get myself out of bed before leaving my room into the living room/kitchen where no one was found which kinda surprised me.

Y/n: Huh, kinda thought Ed would be drinkin' again.

I shrug and walk to make myself some breakfast. I eat it and decide to chill at the penthouse for the day since I've got nothing to do, but I have a plan for tomorrow night. I'll be on guard duty of any Templars coming into the school while everyone is at the dance. I sit on the couch with my breakfast and decide to watch some tv to make the day pass quicker.
