Y/n POV

The gang and I came back from our mission last night. Turned out the assassination was of a high ranking Templar commander stationed in Vale so I get the feeling we'd be getting alot more of those missions. Currently we, and every other first year, were standing on pads at the edge of a cliff. The five of us were in our regular outfits and I still had my hood up as not to draw attention from Yang and Ruby.

Ozpin: For years you have trained to become warriors.

Goodwitch: Now, I'm sure many of you have heard the rumour about the assignment of teams. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates. Today.

Edward: Why was today the one day I didn't bring my flask?

Ozpin: These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to with someone whom you can work well. That being said, the first person you make eye contact with will be your partner for the next four years.

Edward: OH FUCKING GREAT!

Goodwitch: Language, Mr. Kenway.

Edward: Uh, I speak English.

Ozpin: After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path or you will die.

Edward: Not so bad.

Ozpin: You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation. But our instructors will not intervein. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will guard your item as well as your stand and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?

Jaune: Yeah, um, sir-

Ozpin: Good. Now, take your positions.

Everyone gets into launching positions. The five of us take out our weapons and ready ourselves for launch.

Jaune: Uh, sir? I've got a question. So this "landing strategy" thing. Uh, what is it? You're dropping us off or something?

Ozpin: No. You will be falling.

Jaune: Oh, I see. And did you hand out parachute for us?

Ozpin: No. You will be using your own landing strategy.

Jaune: So what exactly is a landing strategy-

Jaune was cut off by being launched into the forest. Since our pads had delay we got to talk to Ozpin. He looks at us before taking a sip of his hot chocolate.

Y/n: You love your job, don't you?

Ozpin: Yes. Yes I do.

Then the four of us are suddenly launched with the other students toward the Emerald Forest. Ezio and I tried to stay as close to each other as possible and when we landed we just look at each other.

Y/n: So, when do you think we'll find the other-

Then out of nowhere Altaïr, Connor and Edward drop next to us.

Edward: Don't mind us, just dropping in.

Y/n: *chuckling* That was actually decent.

Connor: Let's get a move on.

Before we could even make the first step we were quickly surrounded by a large pack of Beowolves. I smile before dragging my sickles along the ground before slashing them upwards creating a ring of fire around them, trapping them inside with us.

Ezio: Always scares me shitless when you do that.

Y/n: Always comes in handy.

We all charge at different Beowolves and begin fighting them. I use my sickles to cut its legs before cutting its arms clean off. I then use Ebony to execute it before taking out Ivory and shooting at a Beowolf that was trying to sneak up on Ezio.

Y/n: You owe me!

Ezio: Yeah, yeah, I'll add it to the pile!

He says before stabbing a Beowolf in the skull with his sword. I decapitate one with mu sickles before quickly spinning around and slitting ones throat that was trying to attack me. I look around and see Connor kill the last Beowolf so I use my sickles to put the firewall down.

Y/n: Ok, NOW we can get moving.

We walk away from the dead Grimm bodies and continue walking in the direction of the relics. I used Eagle Vision to get a perspective from Shade. I see multiple students talking by the ruins with a Nevermore flying up high. I return to my own perspective before we all ran to the group where the Nevermore circled in and flung feathers down toward Ruby who was trying to fight a Death Stalker. One of the Nevermore's feathers pinned her to the ground by her cloak.

Y/n: *sigh* You four, stay with the others to make sure they don't get hurt. I'll deal with the scorpion and the bird.

Altaïr: Are you sure you will be ok?

Y/n: As long as my hood stays on, yes. Now go.

They nod and run to the others while I run to Ruby. The Death Stalker was about to attack her with its stinger but I shot at its eyes and cut its stinger off with my sickles causing it so screech in pain while I stood infront of Ruby. As much as I wanted to leave her to die by the Death Stalker I couldn't let anyone see it.

Ruby: A-Animus?

I look back at her keeping my hood over my eyes so she couldn't see me but I could see her. I motion for her to get back to the others before turning to the Death Stalker and taking out Ivory and shooting it in the eye causing it to screech in pain again.

Ruby: Leave!? What about you?!

I pick her up and throw her over to Ezio who catches her and sets her on the ground before I set my sights back on the Death Stalker but suddenly the Nevermore landed behind it and screeched at me.

Y/n: *under breath* Come and get me, fuckers.

I holster Ivory and take out my duel sickles before running at the two Grimm. I jump to attack them with my sickles raised before I-

??? POV

I shoot up with the Animus headset still on my face. I take it off before Caitlan runs in.

Caitlan: Josh! Josh are you ok? I saw the Animus error in the computer!

Josh: I-I'm fine. How long was I in there for?

Caitlan: A day. I'd suggest getting some rest and waiting for the effect to dissipate.

Josh: *sigh* Alright. Sorry for worrying you.

Caitlan: If you're going back in, just let me know.

I nod before getting up from the bed. Since Caitlan and I shared an apartment we had to share a room since we used one for the Animus. I walk into our shared room before sitting on my bed and looking out the window onto the landscape of Vale. Much different to that seen in the Animus, but to be fair it has been two hundred years since then.

Josh: If I could just figure out where Ozpin is, I might be able to speak with him about my heritage and ask him questions. I know he's alive. He has to be.
