Chapter 13 (part 1)

A/N This chapter has a lot of depressing thoughts. Read with caution.

~3rd person POV~

Many thoughts raced through your head as you lied on the ground. Too many for you to keep track of, so, as usual, you closed your eyes and stopped caring. What was the point of anything now that your life goal had been taken away?

"Ur," you spoke softly to yourself, "did you even remember me when you left?" There was a good chance the answer to your question was no. Why should she remember some weird little cross-dressing kid when she had two pupils whom she was obviously proud of?

'Yeah who even needs you?' spoke a voice.

'My voice? What's going on?' you though to yourself while opening your eyes.

'You really are worthless! Look at you just lying on the floor, making Natsu and the others worry. You're such a burden!' the voice spoke once more.

"What? No! You're wrong," you mumbled while sitting up. Your head pounded from lying down so long.

'Am I?' the voice sneered, 'How are you of any use if you're just a waste of space on the floor? You're about as worthless as these pieces of junk Natsu has around!'

"No... shut up," you whispered while curling into a ball.

'Wouldn't it help everyone if you weren't even here?'

"I-"

'Then there'd be no reason for them to worry!'

"They do-'

'Maybe then Natsu could stop wasting all his money on trying to feed some useless girl who can't get her gender right.'

"He-"

'Then Ur wouldn't have had to be so disappointed.'

"No, she's no-"

'Then you could join everyone you left in the village.'

Your eyes widened in shock and you were left speechless. Tears flowed freely down your face as the voice started to taunt you again, only now there were more.

'How come you couldn't save us, (m/n)?'

"Elub?" you breathed.

'Did you like seeing our corpses all over the ground, (m/n)?'

"Ogidni, that's not how it happened!"

'I bet this was just so you could run off to some guild and leave us behind to rot!'

"Regnig, I never ran off!"

'(m/n)'

Your breath hitched as you recognized the voice of a small boy.

'I thought you were always going to be here in the village.'

"Egnaro," you cried softly. Then everything was silent. Even though nothing was said anymore, you could still hear the voices of everyone you had left. Images of bodies and evil men flooded your mind as you rose to your feet.

'Was that the door that just closed behind me?'

'A twig? Am I in the forest now?'

Your feet kept moving in a direction that they wanted while your gazed followed the path in front of you. But you didn't take any of it in. Maybe you fell a few times or crossed a river. Who knows.

A terrible stench hit your nose and you looked up. You could feel your chest tighten as you surveyed the burned houses and decaying corpses in front of you. Carefully avoiding any bodies, you made your way to the center of the town and sat there with your knees to your chest. The remains of the Death Dragons' guild members laid in awkward positions around you.

You closed your eyes and let out a shaky breath as silence consumed your senses once again.

~Natsu's POV~

The whole way to my house Gray was being super annoying. He stopped trying to get away after Erza punched his gut but wouldn't stop complaining about having to go to come with us.

"This is unfair! Why do I have to go?! I already spoke to that brat!" Gray continued to yell. Erza wasn't doing anything since she just blocked Gray out and focused on where she was walking. Lucy on the other hand...

"Gray," she went off on him again, "you should be sorry for what you did! Couldn't you see how upset you made (m/n)?" I sighed as they began to argue again.

"I didn't do anything except answer his question!"

"You fought him and beat him up even though he's new to magic!"

"How do you know that he just started using magic?"

"I uh..."

"See? He could've been using it for a long time but just sucks!"

"Gray, stop being so rude!"

"Well it makes more sense than just guessing he hasn't used magic before!"

"Doesn't mean you have to be mean about it. Natsu, help me out," Lucy said while looking back at me.

"Why? Gray sucks so you must be right," I say while walking down the path.

"Ha! See? I'm right!" Lucy boasted.

"That doesn't count! He's and idiot and his only reasoning was that I suck!" Gray seemed to get even angrier if that was possible.

"Oh so you admit that you suck huh?" Happy laughed into his paw.

"Wha- I DIDN'T MEAN IT LIKE THAT YOU MORON!" Gray yelled while trying to grab at him.

"All of you shut up," Erza commanded, "we're here." I looked up and saw that we were, in fact, at my house.

"Sweet! Now Gray can apologize and (m/n) can join the guild!" I said while running up the path. Someone grabbed my arm, I looked back to see Erza.

"Did (m/n) say anything about joining the guild? He would need the Master to approve, good thing that he's coming back today," she said while letting go and walking past me.

"It would be fun if he joined though," Lucy sighed as she followed Erza. I ran up ahead of them and threw open the door. Happy flew around me and in to the house.

"Hey, (m/n)! We're home!" I yelled while following after Happy.

"Natsu, I don't think he's here," Happy said flying back to me.

"What? Where would he go?" I exclaimed while digging through my stuff.

"Well he wouldn't be buried under your junk, that's for sure," Lucy muttered while looking around.

"It's not junk and-" I stopped what I was saying and took another deep breath. (m/n) must've walked out. I began stiffing and following the "trail" that he left behind.

"Natsu, what's wrong?" Erza asked."(m/n)'s not here," I muttered while following my nose out the door. Weird, this isn't even heading towards town...

"He probably wants some space," Gray growled, "so let me go and we can talk another time." He began trying to squeeze away from Erza but she tightened her grip and followed after me.

"Wait! Natsu, where are we going?" Lucy yelled while running up to us.

"Donno..."

And with that we began our way through the forest.

I've been typing this chapter for a really long time. Actually, there's more to it (hence part 1) put it was all over 2000 words and I didn't want to put that all in at once. I like to keep the chapters at a reasonable length so you all can read it in one sitting. :) So part 2 will be out tomorrow cause it's already done. Please vote, comment, and follow!
