"(m/n), where are you?!"
"How much further do you think he went? My feet hurt..."
"You should grow wings and fly like me then!"
"That's not how it works!"Lucy and Happy have been calling out for (m/n) the whole walk no matter how many times I tell them we're not close. I closed my eyes so that I could concentrate better on his scent.
"Too many other- AAGH!" I had slipped and fallen into a small stream. I could hear Gray laughing and soon Happy was flying next to me.
"Are you okay, Natsu?" he asked. I patted him on the head and nodded a quick 'yes.'
"It looks like (m/n) fell here as well," Erza suddenly said. We all looked at her in shock, even Gray who was being carried by her.
"How can you tell?" Lucy asked.
"See here," she gestured to some tracks of mud along the bank, "there are sliding trails and the footprints from his boots."
"Looks like were on the right track then," I said while standing and following the scent again.
"Seems like it."
"Can we just hurry this up?"
"Are none of you concerned on how easily she could tell that?!" Lucy yelled from behind us. Nope, that's just Erza.

"Ew, what a horrible smell," I muttered while trying to keep all these scents strait.
"What smell?" Lucy asked before gagging. Looks like they can smell it as well.
"Whatever it is, it must be close," Erza warned. Then her head snapped to the side and she walked toward and overgrown bush.
"What is it, Erza?" Lucy asked through her hand. Erza began moving parts of a bush and stepped back to reveal a sign.
"New Bark Town," Happy read aloud.
"Strange, I've never heard of this place," Lucy said while examining the sign. The wind began picking up, looks like it might rain. Wait! That smell!
"(m/n) is really close!" I exclaimed while running around the small sign. The others seemed excited as well, minus Gray, as ran after me. I stopped and stared with horror at what we found. The others soon joined me and had similar responses.
"Natsu what... is... it." Lucy had come behind the rest of us and shook a bit as she stared at the carnage and destruction in front of us.
All the houses and buildings in sight had been destroyed. Some of the places where there were houses were just empty lots with burned grass. But the worst part was what the smell was from: multiple bodies lie strewn across the streets and broken buildings. Mostly older men and women but there were also children. A couple drops of rain began falling down. Within a few seconds it was pouring. I have to find (m/n) quick before I lose his scent! I ran in the direction where I could still pick up traces of him.
"Natsu! Where are you going?" Lucy cried out horrified from behind me while trying to shield herself from the rain
"I can smell (m/n) over here," I exclaimed while pointing toward the center of the town. The others hesitantly splashed their way behind me until we reached the center. It looked worse than the rest of the town, if that was even possible.
Bodies that looked as if they had been impaled were in a circular like pattern around the center. They all had guild symbols on their bodies in different places.
