Chapter 12

"She died seven years ago."

And your world fell apart

It had been a week since then.

In that time you became more like an object than a person. All day you just laid flopped out in Natsu's house. Your once shiny (h/c) hair was now darker and greasy. Your bright (e/c) eyes are dull and the area around them is red and puffy.

"Hey (m/n), are you gonna come with me today? Me an' Lucy are worried..." Natsu's voice called from across the room. You said nothing in response and only continued to stare at the ceiling.

You heard Natsu sigh, "I'll pick you up somethin' to eat on my way home."

The door closed and you rolled over on your side. Fresh tears fell slowly fell down your face.

"Why?" you crackly voice called into the emptiness of the room. Your hand ran along your arm and felt the healing scrapes from your battle with Gray.

"I don't understand!" you screamed while breaking down into more sobs.

~Natsu POV~

"I don't understand!"

I looked back at the house at (m/n)'s sudden outburst. I was tempted to go back but...

"He's really shut us out huh?" Happy asked from my shoulder.

"Mm..." I said while walking down towards Magnolia. Whatever happened back then really upset (m/n)...

~flashback still Natsu's POV~

"Ugh!" I grunted while punching at the wall Gray had made around us. I peered through the icy surface and saw (m/n) and Gray fighting. (m/n) was doing a good job of holding Gary off but was still losing. Suddenly Gray shot (m/n) into the air with a pillar of ice! He was barely able to catch himself on a slide before falling back to earth.

Gray advanced towards (m/n) and kept talking, then he just walked away. (m/n) didn't move, it was like he was a statue sitting there.

"Gray! I swear if you hurt (m/n) I'll break both your arms and you won't be able to strip for a month!" I yelled as the ice started cracking.

SMASH

Erza had broken through and was already storming after Gray, I imminently ran to (m/n)'s side and tried to get his attention. Lucy came up beside me holding Happy in her arms.

"Hey... you okay?" I asked (m/n) cautiously. His lips moved a bit but he didn't speak.

"What was that (m/n)?" Lucy asked, leaning in closer to him.

"S-she... I..." (m/n) was stuttering incoherent words while tears began falling down his face. Lucy reached her hand up and brushed away a few tears.

"Gray... you jerk!" I turned and began running in the direction Erza had but then...

"(M/N)!" I heard Lucy scream and turned to see him slumped on the ground.

~back to the present with Natsu~

He ended up being fine though. No major injuries, unless you count being depressed for a week.

"Natsu, we're here," Happy spoke up from next to me. I looked up and saw that we had arrived at the guild. I walked up and reached to open the doors when they swung open in front of me. It was Gray. He barely glanced at me before stepping to the right and walking away.

Gray has also been moody since the fight. He stopped coming to the guild so often and would only come in to grab a job. Lucy ran up and looked around me. She sighed and her brown gaze dropped to the floor.

"He didn't come today either?" she asked while watching Gray walk away. Lucy has been concerned about (m/n) since he passed out. She wouldn't even leave his side until he woke up, but unfortunately he basically shut down and wouldn't talk to anyone anyway.

"This has gone on too long," I muttered and ran to catch up to Gray. I grabbed the back of his jacket and began pulling him towards the forest.

"Hey! Let go of me flame breath!" he yelled while trying to twist out of my grasp. I heard Lucy yell for me before two sets of footsteps were heard rushing towards me. I glanced back to see that not only Lucy, but Erza, had ran to come with me.

"Oi, Erza! Tell this idiot to let me go!" Gray yelled while punching me in the legs.

"Gray," I felt him yanked out of my grasp and turned to protest. But Erza had him slung over her shoulder and was walking the direction I was going.

"You need to knock this off and talk to (m/n)," she stated while going down the path to my house. So Erza was also concerned about (m/n)? And she even remembered his name! Lucy and I ran to catch up with her and continued in silence until we got to my house.

Time to fix (m/n).

Sorry about the late update! Expect them to be slow until summer starts. Anyway I'll try to get the next chapter out sooner but I'm also starting another story that should be available in a few months.

Yeah this was a bit of a filler chapter but I need a transition to the next chapter, I expect that one to be longer. Please vote, comment, and follow! I appreciate feedback! :)
