A beautiful girl with brown hair, slender body and brown eyes was sitting on her bed and was giggling while talking to her friend on the phone. She was having a fun conversation with Neha, her best friend, and was sharing some gossip and jokes. She heard her mother's voice, loud and clear, "Naina Sharma, come down immediatly."
Naina left her phone and rushed downstairs, wondering what she had done wrong. She saw her mother holding a rolling pin in her hands, looking angry and stern. Naina's eyes widened and asked, "What did I do mumma?"
Aditi said, "Why have you not eaten anything from your lunchbox?" She showed Naina the lunchbox, which was full of dal chawal, Naina's favourite dish. Naina said, "Mumma, me and Neha were talking and we walked towards the canteen and I ate the food before I realised that I had Dal Chawal."
Aditi shook her head and said, "You are impossible. You know how much I care about your health and nutrition. You should eat home-cooked food, not junk food from the canteen. How will you grow up to be a smart and successful girl if you don't eat properly?"
Naina was about to go back to her room, when Aditi called her and said, "Today, Aakash will be coming home, clean the guest room, understand?" Naina felt a pang of annoyance. She didn't like Aakash, who was her mother's friend's son and a lawyer. He was always trying to impress her and her mother, but Naina found him boring and arrogant.
Naina asked, "That Aakash Rathore, lawyer?" Aditi nodded her head and said, "Yes, him only. He is a very nice and well-educated boy. He is coming to meet you and spend some time with us. You should be polite and friendly with him. Who knows, he might be your future husband."
Naina nodded her head, but inwardly groaned. She had no interest in Aakash or marriage. She wanted to focus on her studies and career. She went towards her room and dialed Neha and said, "Bal Bal bachgayi hum."
Then she spoke to her for a while and vented out her frustration. She told her how much she hated Aakash and how her mother was trying to set them up. Neha sympathized with her and advised her to be calm and patient. She said that maybe Aakash was not that bad and that she should give him a chance.
Naina was not convinced, but she agreed to be civil with him. She was about to sleep when Aakash messaged her.
Naina felt a surge of irritation and discomfort. She didn't want to talk to him, but she didn't want to be rude either. She wished she could avoid him, but she knew she had to face him. She hoped that he would leave soon and let her live her life.
She had to focus on the present and the future. She had an important interview to give at Singhaniya Industries, one of the leading companies in the country. She had applied for the post of a marketing manager and the assistant of the CEO, and she knew it was a tough competition.
She had prepared well, but she was still nervous and anxious. She wanted this job badly. It would change her life for the better. She prayed to God to bless her with this opportunity.
Meanwhile, he was sitting in his office, with a frown on his handsome and muscular face. His black hair was messed up, as if he had run his fingers through it many times.
His stormy chocolate brown eyes were filled with frustration and anger. He had a lot of work to do, but he couldn't concentrate. He was distracted by the thoughts of his past.
He heard someone call his name, "Reyansh?" He lifted his head and saw Aryan, his assistant and best friend, standing at the door. He hummed and Aryan continued, "Riya di, had called and she is waiting for you to have her food and she says you have also not taken your medicines."
Reyansh felt a pang of guilt. He had forgotten to eat his lunch and take his diabetes medicines and now it was past his dinner time. He knew his sister, Riya, was worried about him. She was the only person who cared for him and loved him unconditionally.
He loved her too, but he didn't want to burden her with his troubles. He said, "Aryan, go tell the driver to prepare the car I will go to the basement in 2 minutes, you also go home."
Aryan nodded and left. Reyansh packed up his bags and went towards the basement. He sat in the back seat of his shiny black Mercedes and closed his eyes. He tried to relax, but he couldn't.
He reached home and was about to go to his room when he heard a sweet voice, "Chote??" He turned around and saw Riya sitting on the dining table with two plates of food. She had a smile on her face, but he could see the concern in her eyes.
He sat down and said, "Di, why did you wait for me?" Riya said, "How can I eat anything when my Chote has not eaten anything. You need to eat your Diabetes medicines right?"
Reyansh scoffed and said, "Yeah right! What is special for dinner?" Riya smiled and said, "Roti and Mutter Paneer and some kheer."
Reyansh was about to say something when Riya said, "Your kheer is seperately prepared without any sweet."
Reyansh nodded and ate his dinner. He didn't have much appetite, but he didn't want to disappoint Riya. Riya also ate with him and then she kept the plates in the kitchen. She said, "Chote, medicines."
He nodded and took his medicines. He knew he had to take care of his health, but he hated being dependent on pills. Riya kissed his forehead and said, "I love you, Chote. Take care of yourself."
He said, "I love you too, Di. You are the best." He went to his bedroom and changed. He sat down and went through the list of the people who would meet him the next day. He had a busy schedule, but he was not excited.
He was very tired and exhausted. He sent a few mails and finally switched off the lights and slept. He hoped to have a peaceful sleep, but he knew he would have nightmares.
