The morning after the presentation, Naina and Reyansh found themselves amidst a whirlwind of activity. Their home was abuzz with the sounds of zippers closing and bags being shuffled - the final day before their departure to America had arrived. Reyansh, who had been quietly nursing the disappointment of RCB's loss, was also preparing to share something significant with Naina, something that had been weighing on his heart.
Lost in his thoughts, Reyansh was brought back to the present by the sight of Naina emerging from the bathroom. She was casually dressed in a cropped black hoodie and loose-fitting navy blue pants, her feet slipped into comfortable white sneakers. Her hair was pulled back into a practical ponytail. As she approached Reyansh, a frown creased her forehead. "Do I look okay?" she asked, a hint of uncertainty in her voice.
Reyansh couldn't help but smile at her concern. "You look perfect," he reassured her, his head shaking slightly in amusement. He then turned to the closet and changed into a light blue sweater with a darker blue collar, complementing it with black trousers and white sneakers to match Naina's casual style. "Shall we?" he asked, extending his hand to her.
Naina's nod was all the confirmation he needed, and together they stepped out to face the family. Dadi's voice rang out with playful teasing, "Ah, off on a honeymoon, are we?"
Naina's cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "Dadi, it's a business trip," she corrected gently.
But Dadi was not so easily convinced. "A business trip that lasts a month?" she questioned, her eyes twinkling with mirth.
Neha joined in, wrapping an arm around Dadi's shoulder. "Exactly what I was wondering," she chimed in, earning a mock glare from Naina.
With a respectful touch to Dadi's feet, Naina sought her blessings, while Reyansh announced their departure to Radhika. "Chachi, we should be going," he said, his voice carrying a note of finality.
Radhika's smile was knowing, her thoughts already racing ahead. "Now I can plan in peace," she thought to herself.
The journey to the airport was an eventful one, as they were soon swarmed by paparazzi. Naina clung to Reyansh's hand, overwhelmed by the flashing cameras and the sea of faces. Sensing her discomfort, Reyansh shielded her, his voice firm yet polite. "Please, give us some space. My wife is not comfortable with this."
They managed to navigate through the crowd and check in for their flight. Once settled, Reyansh offered, "Coffee?"
Naina, however, was already feeling the weight of the day. "I'm so sleepy," she murmured.
"There's still time before boarding. You can rest," Reyansh suggested, his tone soft.
Grateful, Naina rested her head on his shoulder and allowed sleep to claim her. Reyansh watched her, a sense of wonder at her ease with him.
When it was time to board, he gently woke her, and they walked hand in hand onto the plane. Naina's eyes widened in awe at the luxurious business class interior. "Careful," Reyansh teased, "you might catch flies."
