Naina had to wake up early that day because her bua and cousin were coming to visit them from Delhi. She got out of the bed and tiptoed to the bathroom, careful not to disturb her husband, Reyansh, who was still sleeping. She turned on the geyser and waited for the water to heat up. She checked the water level and realized that there was not enough hot water for both of them. She sighed and decided to let Reyansh have the hot water. She did not like him, but she did not want to create a scene in front of her family. She took a cold shower and shivered as the water ran down her body. She dried herself and wrapped a towel around her.
She went back to the bedroom and opened her suitcase. She had brought a few sarees with her for the occasion. She picked a white saree with a red blouse that she thought would suit her. The blouse had golden borders and motifs that made it look rich and elegant. The pallu of the saree had a floral pattern that added some charm to the plain white fabric. She wore the saree and pinned it neatly. She accessorized with an oxidised necklace and bracelet that matched the golden work on the blouse. She combed her long black hair and left it free. She applied some kajal, lipstick, and bindi to enhance her features. She also wore her sindhoor and mangalsutra, the signs of her marriage.

She looked at Reyansh, who was still snoring on the bed. She said, "Reyansh, wake up or else hot water will get empty." She raised her voice and shook his shoulder. He groaned and opened his eyes. He got up and ran to the bathroom. He slammed the door behind him. Naina giggled at his panic and went downstairs.
She saw Aditi, arranging some sweets on the dining table. She greeted her and said, "Ma, you have made so many dishes. You are amazing." Aditi smiled and said, "Thank you, beta. I want to make a good impression on your bua and cousin. They are coming all the way from Delhi to see you and Reyansh." Naina nodded and said, "Ma, can I help you with anything?" Aditi said, "No, beta, you go and prepare the table. She went to the kitchen and started preparing sugar-less halwa as she knew that Reyansh was a diabetic and could not eat normal sweets. She had learned a special recipe for sugar-less kheer from Riya.
She looked up and saw Reyansh coming down the stairs. He had changed into a red shirt and white pants. He looked handsome and smart in his casual outfit. He did not smile or greet anyone. He just sat on his chair and looked at his phone. He ignored everyone around him.
Just then, the doorbell rang and Naina went to open it. She saw her bua, Amrita, and her cousin, Akshaya, standing outside. They had arrived from Delhi by train. Naina hugged them and welcomed them inside. She said, "Bua, Akshu, I am so happy to see you. How was your journey?" Amrita said, "It was fine, beta. We are glad to be here. How are you?" Naina said, "I am good, bua."
Naina said, "Ma, papa, Reyansh, bua and Akshu come on na. Let's have breakfast." She sat next to Reyansh and Reyansh whispered in her ear, "After this change into formal clothes we need to go for the presentation." Naina nodded and lifted her head up.
Amrita asked, "Bhaiyya, yeh ladka kaun hai?" She was curious about the handsome man sitting next to Naina. Aditi said, "Voh, Naina ki pati hai. Reyansh Singhaniya. He is the CEO of Singhaniya Industries, one of the leading companies in the country. He and Naina had a love marriage. They met in college and fell in love. They got married last month with our blessings." Akshaya was shocked when she heard about his maritial status and his profession. She felt a pang of jealousy and regret. She thought, "Why did Naina get such a perfect husband? Why can't I have someone like him?"
