A Popularity Project Gone Wrong: Chapter Six
My eyes flung on open as I felt myself cough up nasty saltwater. I looked up to see Keith and my other friends watching me and I immediately wiped my mouth in embarrassment. "You're awake, thank goodness," Keith exclaimed as he hugged me. I hugged him back and I suddenly felt very cold. I realized that I was very damp and I began to shiver. What happened to me? Who did this?"Here, take my towel," Cassidy told me as she flipped her blonde hair and wrapped. I tried to thank her, but my throat was burning badly.
Once I had Cassidy's warm towel around my wet body, Keith got up and his hands turned into angry fists. I gulped, was he angry? Did whoever did this do it on purpose? "I'm going to kill Jeremy! I cannot believe he threw a rock into the ocean and it hit Serena! I'm going to kill his ass!"
"Go ahead," Cassidy agreed, "He's a jerk anyway!"
I felt my cheeks heat up, I didn't want anyone to get hurt. I'm pretty sure it was just an accident, I had to say something! "No," I told them hoarsely, "It was probably an accident"
I cleared my throat which caused my throat to burn more so tears began to welt my eyes. Great, just great! "Well, I'm going to see if it's an accident" Keith murmured and stormed off. I watched walked up to Jeremy who was halfway near the ice cream stand. He was completely unaware that nearly everyone was crowded around me. Did he realize that he hurt me?
"Your head is going to be okay," Cassidy told me with a whitened smile, "I put a bandage over it. It's a just a big bump, that'll heal soon."
There's a bandage on my head? I touched my head and realized that there was sadly. I didn't even feel any pain, but my throat. Hopefully, I will heal soon because I don't want Rosalie and my Dad to find out. "Can I have some water" I asked Cassidy quietly since my voice cracked when I said water.
"Yes, I will go order you some," Cassidy told me before running off. When she was gone, my other friends were comforting me but I really wasn't focused on them. I turned towards the situation between Jeremy and Keith. I let a huge gasp as I realized that Keith was beating the hell out Jeremy. Oh crap, I didn't mean for any of this to happen.
I got up, ignored my friends' screams, and ran towards their direction. As I running, Keith immediately stopped and Jeremy fell to the floor in pain. I gasped once more, I hope he was okay. Once I was closer to them, I noticed that Jeremy had a black eye and his nose was bleeding badly. "Keith, what the hell!" I exclaimed angrily, "What did you do to him?"
"I gave him a lesson! No one hurts my girl!" Keith shouted, "He deserves to get his ass whooped"
I didn't even blush when he said "my girl". I was furious with him, why would he such a thing? I'm pretty sure this was just a misunderstanding. "No Keith," I told him furiously, "I can't believe this! He doesn't deserve this!"
"How do you know?" He asked me. My mind went blank, what was he blabbering about?
"What?" I asked.
Before he could reply, Jeremy looked at me. I glanced back at him and gave him a sweet smile. He didn't deserve this, it was an accident and I just knew it. He rolled his eyes at me and my heart broke. What was up with him? "Jeremy, are you okay" I asked him.
"What do you think? I'm a wimp," He snapped angrily. I felt bad for him, he should have not gotten beat up like that.
"No you're not, I forgive you. It's okay, this is all just a misunderstanding," I told him comfortably.
