A Popularity Project Gone Wrong: Chapter Five

I shrieked happily as soon as Keith's car parked in my driveway. I was going to have so much fun and everything is falling into place! Fortunately, my Dad and Rosalie went to a date so I wouldn't be a distraction to them anyways. I was glad that everyone was going so well! I walked back to my mirror and tossed a piece of mousy hair happily. Serena, you're beautiful, you're a star, and everyone loves you. With this thought, I happily grabbed my belongings and ran down the stairs. When the door bell begun to ring, I opened the door immediately and Keith smiled at me. "Wow, you're gorgeous" He said with a lovely smile.

I blushed, I was wearing a cute red rumper, my cute bikini underneath, makeup, and just some simple jewelry. Nothing too fancy, but I appreciated his compliment away. "Thank you so are you," I told him with a grin plastered on my face. He was wearing a t shirt and it was so tight that you could actually see glimpses of his lovely six pack. Damn, he's hot!

He nodded. "Let's go, I do not want to be late." I nodded back and quickly locked my door behind me. I walked alongside to his car without saying anymore words. I was suddenly nervous because I never expected to go this far. I already met a handsome boy who's probably very interested in me. We've hung out a lot during the week and I enjoyed every moment of it. The only thing I questioned was why did he like me so fast? Was it because of my looks?

As I opened the door, I decided to push these thoughts. I'm pretty sure Keith likes me for "me" not my looks. As I buckled up, Keith starts the car swiftly and drives off. As he drives, I watch him carefully. His creamy skin looked nice, sweet, and soft as he used his hands to drive. I also liked the way he focused on the road because it made his eyes sparkle. This sounds cheesy, but Keith was so dashing to look at.

"What are you looking at?" Keith asked me with a mischevious smile.

I blushed, oh no he caught me! "You." I replied nervously.

Keith suddenly grabbed my hand which sent electric shocks throughout my entire body. I felt as if God was coming back to Earth already. "Serena, do you have feelings for me?"

"Umm-"

For some reason, I couldn't answer him even if I knew that I liked him.

"Do you?"

Before I can even try to answer, his phone rings. He takes his hand away and presses the "answer" button on his iphone4.

"Hello" Keith greeted. I could hear talking in the background, but I couldn't make out the person.

"Uh huh, almost there. What? Okay, bye."

Once he hung up, I looked at him with a worried smile. "Is someone looking for you?"

"Yes," He replied. "We're almost there though"

He was right because after ten minutes of silence, Keith drove up to NewPort Beach. I glanced out the window to see loads of people walking around in the sand, playing beach volleyball, swimming, surfing, getting tans, dancing, and so much more. I gulped nervously, there was so many people!

"Wow, this is nice" I told him.

"Yes it is. We even got it closed for this event."

Wait a second, the beach was closed and there was so much people? What the hell, do I need to take a double take?!

"Cool," I lied. "I wish that happened to me"

Keith and I hopped out of the car and walked into the beach. I tried my best to look confident with my head held high because no one knew that I was terrified of exteremly big crowds. I got this fear naturally from people crowded around me which I was bullied. I felt a little hesitant all of the sudden and weird. I wondered how did I get used to this so quickly? I guess I was too determined to realize that this is starting to get a little scary.

"Are you alright?" Cassidy suddenly asked me which caused me to jump. I looked up and glanced at her. She was pretty blonde and I was jealous of her hour glass figure. She really rocked her pink colored bikini.

"Yes, I'm fine. I was just hanging," I replied nonchalently.

"Speaking of chill, do you want to come with me to buy some ice cream? It's so hot and like I'm going to get an ugly sunburn. After that, we should hang out with some guys and maybe catch some waves. Sound good?" She asked me.

I almost didn't answer her because the fear was coming back again. I didn't know where she came from, I thought I was standing next to Keith a second ago. I took a deep breath and replied, "Sure thing."

Cassidy smiled at me, linked my arm, and pulled me along to the ice cream stand. As I was walking something catches my eye, I spot a boy with cute chestnut colored hair, beautiful sun kissed skin, and crystal blue eyes. He was so handsome that his presence made me melt inside. As I was staring at him, I realized that he was hanging out by himself. I wondered why because he's so handsome and girls must be drooling all over him.

I watched him a bit longer and saw him throw a pebble into the ocean. He pointed his finger and counted the puddles. What was he doing- "Hello! Earth to Serena!" Cassidy hollered interuppting my gaze.

"What? Sorry," I said apologetically.

"Who are you staring at?"

"That guy who's throwing pebbles into the ocean," I admitted with a slight blush.

"What the hell Serena! Don't look at him ever again!" She retorted quickly.

"But why?"

Before she could answer me, Cassidy realized that we were next in line. She ordered an ice cream sandwich while I ordered a cotton candy colored ice cream bar. When the person gave us our ice cream treats, we thanked him and walked away. As we were walking, I wondered why Cassidy got upset. The boy didn't even too weird to me. Was he picked on just like I was back in San Diego? He was too handsome to picked on liked that if he was. I wanted to know more about him, but I didn't dare to ask.

I didn't want Cassidy to yell at me again. "Okay, I see Keith and his friend Brad! Let's go swimming with them."

Before I could respond, she grabbed my arm and practically pulled me across the beach. Once we arrived to the guys, she let go of my arm and I realized she just gave me a red scratch.

"Sorry," Cassidy told me eagerly, "Anyway, hi guys what is up?"

"Nothing really, we're just chillin. Hey why don't you guys hit the waves with us" Keith offered. We both nodded our heads and hit the waves.

I would have been having so much fun, but I was really distracted. What was wrong with that boy and why did Cassidy yell at me? I wanted to know! Things were getting too awkward for me to comphrend-

"OH MY GOSH! SERENA LOOK OUT!" Keith shouted at me suddenly. Before I could even react, something hit me hard and I fell into the saltwater sinking...

Hahahaha! Cliffhanger alert! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this brief chapter lol :D. I noticed that I was going a bit too fast which is a nasty habit of mine so I slowed it a bit down. At least, I think I did. Anyway, the boy? Can you guess who it is. Hint: J.e.r.e.m.y! Sorry about the long wait, I had finals and I was entirely busy but please enjoy anyway?
