Chapter 91: Seeing Stars Part 3

The fight was broken up by LAPD sometime later, multiple arrests were made and Carter and Loona escaped where they took a break at a local Cafe. Carter decided to relax with a lemon iced tea and Loona had a latte. They began walking together down the street where they both came across this poster advertising the Star Owl souvenir shop which had this cool looking celestial owl on the front with a glowing blue eye and was carrying a skull in it's talons. Loona caught Carter off guard when she grabbed him and told him to smile for the camera before taking a photo and posting it to Sinstergram tagging Carter and adding the hashtag #earthshit with a fire emoji.

After Carter had regained his composure after the shock of an unexpected phone flash going off in his face, Loona was scrolling through her friends Sinstergram posts when she came across Octavia's post showing her at the exact spot where Carter and Loona were right now. Loona spat out her latte and began investigating through her other posts. Carter looked over Loona's shoulder and asked "Loona what's up?" Loona grunted and said "Octavia was just here right by the poster we're standing at, she doesn't appear too far away from us lets go!" Loona grabbed Carter by the wrist and they ran back the way they had previously came, and in the process the pair of them dropped their drinks on the pavement.

Loona had begun dragging Carter to the different locations as shown on Octavia's Sinstergram posts, one after the other until they made it to her latest post which was at the Griffith Observatory. Loona and Carter had both knackered themselves following the trail left by Octavia's posts, Carter was looking at the time on his phone since he had noticed that it was dark out and realized that they were going back and fourth looking for her for almost 6 hours! Carter exclaimed "We've been chasing after her for fucking 6 hours she better bloody well be here or I'm jumping off the deck and going home". Loona said whilst catching her breath said "You and me both babe, I didn't even get to finish my latte".

Carter and Loona began waking around the observatory and made their way up the stairs and they found Octavia standing alone and crying on the observation deck. Loona and Carter looked at each other with a solemn expression and they made their way towards her. Both Loona and Carter realizing that there were no humans around to see any of them decided to revert back to their hellhound forms and approached Octavia, Loona said to Octavia to grab her attention "Hey". Octavia sniffled and replied back "Hey.. How did you find me?" Loona waved her phone in front of Octavia and replied "Your Sinstergram. Nice pics by the way" Octavia laughed and said replied "Oh.. ha thanks" Octavia sniffled and Carter approached, placing a paw on Octavia's shoulder and asked "Are you alright Octavia, you gave everyone quite a scare, why did you run off?" Octavia grunted and said "I can't believe I was so stupid, I spent all day looking for a place where I could see some.. dumb meteor shower. And all I get is.. THIS".

Octavia pointed out towards the sky whilst crying and Loona sighed and said "Yeah.. smog's a bitch" Loona then pulled a cigarette of of a pack of Marlboro Lites and tried to light it. Carter grabbed the cigarette and packet from Loona and had thrown it over the ledge and said "You whispered "You know you shouldn't be doing that" Loona Looked at Carter and simple smiled and nodded and said whispering back "I know you're right" she then turned back to Octavia and continued to say too her "Ya know.. Your dad's really worried about you". Octavia in an outburst replied back "Right! that's why you two are here instead of him. He couldn't be bothered to keep his promise and now he couldn't be bothered to come get me himself. He'd rather spend his time just screaming at my mum. Why does he hate her more than he loves me...?" Carter and Loona looked at each other heartbroken by Octavia's words. Carter just had flashbacks to his broken home and related to what Octavia was going through on a personal level. Carter did what he could only think of doing to comfort her, and walked up and hugged her. he held her there for a moment before she cried again holding his arms, causing Carter to tear up hearing her cry. 

Whilst Carter was consoling her Loona said "Ahh.. sometimes it's not as simple as that. This kinda shit gets messy. Everybody's got issues.. Especially dads. and sometimes they fuck up.. Well, ugh all the time. That doesn't mean they don't care". Octavia replied "If he cares, where is he?" Carter replied to Octavia "He's still out there looking for you as is Blitzo, Millie and Moxxie. it's just that we found you first is all, he's worried sick you know" Octavia asked "He is?" Loona replied "He's down there somewhere. I mean.. try to cut your dad some slack. He may not always get it right, but he's trying. That's more important than you think" Carter added "She's right you know, the fact that he's even trying to keep shit together even when the shit hits the fan shows how much he cares and how much he loves you. I came from a broken home where I only had my mother, I had a dad but he wasn't a father, and believe it or not but I killed him because of the things he did, he had a chance to do the right things in life but he didn't want to help himself or his family and so his soul has since been scattered to the winds. But yours is out there doing the best he can out of a shitty situation, He loves you Octavia, just you wait until he sees you, I promise he'll tell you that ".

just then the clouds cleared and a full moon had shone through, it's light toughing the three of them, they all smiled at the moment they all had and Loona asked Octavia "You ready to go?" Sticking out her paw for Octavia to grab to which Octavia instead hands Loona the grimoire and responds with a simple "Yeah" and Octavia embraced both Loona and Carter to which they both returned the embrace. Loona then opened a portal to where Blitzo and Stolas where and all three stepped through the portal. Blitzo sees Loona and says "LOONA! Oh Loona my sweet baby girl! I'm so sorry! I'll never replace you no matter what you-" Blitzo was then kicked to the ground by Loona who replies "We're good". Octavia looks at her dad and says "Dad... I'm so sorry..." Stolas then embraces his daughter whilst transforming back into his owl form and replies "I'm just relieved you're okay! But what would possess you to do such a thing? You know I haven't taught you spells like this yet".

Octavia responded "I just wanted to see the stars you promised" Stolas looks baffled and says "The stars? huh Azathoth's tears! Oh no! Oh my dear sweet Via, I am so-" Stolas is cut off by his daughters embrace and says "I know dad, it's okay. You're here now". Stolas embraces his daughter in return and Loona and Carter smile. At that moment what are believed to be fireworks start to go off in the night sky. Loona looks up and asks "The fuck is that?" to which Blitzo wipes a tear from his eye and says "My acting career". Stolas and Octavia watch the fireworks show and Octavia says "Ahh! look at that one! did you see that one?" Blitzo then brings up a very good question "Now where the fuck are M and M?"
