Ch. 10

I can't come up with a name for this one but I think i'll think about it and maybe will put one later.

The very first thing Noah did in the morning was grab a cup of coffee. That was, until he realized they didn't have a coffee machine.
So Noah resorted to just a cup of water.
Kai sat next to him on the bed, also with a cup of water.

Kai was looking out the window. Every once in awhile, he would take a sip but then put the cup down on the table besides the bed.

When Noah was finished with his water, he placed it next to Kai's cup on the desk and stand up, making Kai's attention change to him "What is it?" He asked.
"I'll bring the cup into the kitchen."
"Oh" Kai nods "Okay."

Noah stared at him before exiting the room with both the cups.

As he makes his way to the kitchen, he wonders wether they would have breakfast for them. They did have dinner but that was because they were planning to let them stay the night. They probably were expected to leave the very next day.

To his surprised, he wasn't the only one in the kitchen this morning.
Mason and Wyatt were sitting on a stool, watching something on their phones.
"Good morning." Noah greeted to them as he looped around the kitchen island and to the sink.

Wyatt looks up "Hey Noah."
He turned on the sink and started to wash the cups, making sure it's clean before placing it on the drying rack.
A few seconds later Alex, Aiden, Caleb, Isabella, Cody and Uly walk into the room. Uly had a bag in her hand that she placed in the counter "Good morning."
"Good morning."
"Good morning." Mason and Wyatt say at the same time.

Uly takes a glance around the room "Today is the day we actually look for those people." She says "I came up with a plan last night. As long as it doesn't take too long to travel around the area than we can camp out in some alleyway by sunset."

Caleb frowns "But we don't have camping gear. Plus how are we supposed to just trust a alleyway will present itself when we need it before nightfall?"
Aiden playfully elbows him "Well city boy-"
"You live in the city too you know."
"Well city boy," Aiden completely ignored him "There's plenty of luck in the world. We just have to hope some of it is on our side."

"Or," Cody adds "I could get you guys gear. I have a ton extra. Uly's mom always advises us to have extra stuff incase our first pair gets destroyed."
Uly nods "Now that we got that ready, we need to find a easy route around this place."
Mason peeks over "Where did you get this map from?"
"Mr Britain let me have a copy of the map in the storage room." Uly explains and then picked up a pen from nowhere "But anyways, I saw today we explore everywhere before we can actually start investigating-"

"I say we go look in the forest first."

Everyone looks over at Noah. He hasn't spoken in awhile but he had finished cleaning the cups.
"Why specifically that place? The forest will take up the whole day-"
"He has a point." Isabella interrupted "The forest is vast. It would be the ideal place to put kidnapped people if they don't want them to be found."

Uly sighs "Okay. If we're going to spend our whole investigation in the forest than we don't need this map." She starts to roll the map up again until Cody stops her "Hold on- is there a such thing as a map for the forest?"
"Are you stupid?" Uly bonks him in the head- gently since he was still recovering from his attack- "Why would you have a map of some forest-"

"Actually, there is a map for the forest." Sir France says as he walks into the kitchen "It has been long gone but there certainly is a map."
Uly finishes rolling up the map and stuffs it into the bag she had bought.
"Do you know how we can find it?" Mason asked.

Sir France nods his head slightly "You can't find it though."
"What?" Alex steps forward "Why not? You said we had a mission to find those people-"
Sir France raised his hand in front of him. A hologram of a the land appears and Alex was forced to step back "You cannot find it because it is hidden for the normal eye."
"Normal eye?" Caleb questioned "So like.. us?"
Sir France nods "Exactly."
"Than how are we going to get that map?" Wyatt complained "Maybe it is a good idea to look around the area first."

"Not so fast." Zach and Austin both said at the same time as they entered. They stopped until they reached where everyone else was standing "Don't give up yet!" Zach yelled "We'll help you anyway we can."
"Yeah!" Austin added "We even have a lead for you."

Austin reached into his pockets and pulled out a single maple leaf.
Everyone stared at him in confusion.
"This was what.. uhh-"
Zach whispers something in his ear.
"Colby! Colby had this before he disappeared."
Uly steps forward and takes the lead out of Austin's hand. She hovers it in front of her "Odd. Is it Fall here?"
"Is it what?"
Uly looks up "Fall, the season?"

"I- oh yeah! Mhm it's fall now."
"It doesn't seem like fall." Mason pointed out.
Aiden playfully elbows him "That's because we came from somewhere that was in spring."
Mason shrugs "True."

"That explains the maple leaf." Uly placed it in her bag.
"Is this telling us to go into the forest?" Cody asked.
"Probably." Uly responds, then slips on her bag "Come on everyone, we're going to the forest."
"Hold on," Isabella interrupted. She took a glance around the room "aren't we missing some people?"

Noah scans the room. He knows Kai is still in their bedroom, probably looking out the window again.
But after he does a mental head count again, he realizes Willow and Owen are gone.

"Oh yeah you're right!" Aiden said "Willow, Kai and Owen are missing!"
"Actually Kai is in the bedroom."
"Willow and Owen are missing!"
"They can't be. They were there last night." Wyatt said.
"Maybe they went before us." Mason suggested.
"Impossible!" Uly stresses. She throws the map she just folded into the air "She didn't know the plan nor any routes to go! If she and Owen left than they're bound to get lost-"
"Uly, they're capable of finding the way by themselves." Cody reassures as he kneels down to pick up the paper "Maybe they thought we were wasting time staying here."

Uly sighs and crosses her arms "Well if they don't want to go with the rest of us than we'll just have to go without them."
"I don't really think that's a good idea." Aiden says "We don't know a lot of people in this world. If they want to kills us, we'll have nobody to negotiate peace with."

Zach steps forward "I promise you, though not everyone is friendly with each other, nobody will want to murder you."
"Nobody except Great." Austin mumbles quietly though not as quietly as he would assume. Zach elbows him and hisses something that he could definitely not hear.

Uly rolls her eyes "Okay, let's start going."
