I got another message on my phone as I was about to walk into class. 'Are you really dumb enough to ignore me? I am going to ruin your fucking life.'
I took a screenshot of it and sent it to Ronan. I sat back in my car, not wanting to go inside yet. If I was being honest, I kept looking over at the woods, wondering if I could get away with skipping this class and running away. Running through the heavily wooded area and feel the dirt on my toes. Right as I was in the middle of my daydreaming, a hand slammed against my driver's side window while I was looking out of it. I jumped and made a fist, ready to punch someone. Luckily, it was only Gabe.
I sighed as I rolled my eyes and got out of my car. He was chuckling to himself still. "You're so funny."
"I know, baby, you don't gotta tell me." I matched his shit-eating grin as he put an arm around me, and we walked inside.
He told me about the latest training he was in with Henry, but I was only half listening while I thought about the message. Who it might be. There was only one person I could think of who wouldn't want me around Ronan. Gabe squeezed my shoulder while he laughed about something he said, getting my attention again. When I looked up, Ronan's eyes were black with rage at the sight of Gabe's arms around me. I knew how it must've looked to him, but nothing was going on between us. He knew that, so I didn't change anything. I smirked a little. Knowing he was the jealous type might be fun.
We sat in our usual seats, Gabe and Ronan on either side of me, while Mr. Chase handed out a pop quiz. I was working when my phone buzzed. I flipped it around to see Ronan messaged me. 'Don't worry about the messages. I'll take care of them.'
I sent back a thumbs-up emoji and went back to work. My phone buzzed again, but I could see Ronan typing beside me, so I ignored it. I got up and handed the paper to Mr. Chase, who looked at the clock and smiled. He got a piece of paper and wrote a little note for his mom. I rolled my eyes at the devilish grin he was making. He scribbled on it before folding it up and handing it to me. "There are only a few minutes left in class. You're dismissed."
Ronan and Gabe looked like hurt puppies when I gathered my things and headed out the door. I reached the library front steps before Ronan caught up with me, running across the campus to find me. He panted, resting his hands on his knees to catch his breath. "Did you run all the way over here?"
He panted a few more times before standing up, his hands moving to his hips and his face scrunching up as he nodded. I laughed at the sight of him being such a mess. I waved a hand at him, motioning him to come inside. Gran Gran said hi to us and smirked at the sight of the two of us here together at the same time. It made me nearly snicker to know she was rooting for us. I dropped my stuff in the office and started a new pot, per usual. Ronan came up from behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist while resting his chin on my head. He was warm and surrounded me with his vast size comparison. I leaned up and kissed his jaw before moving away from him. He held onto my waist but slowly let me slip from his grasp. He grabbed himself a cup of coffee as I sat at the computer. I tried to click the clock icon to clock in, but they weren't working. "Everything ok?"
"No, the mouse and keyboard are not working for some reason. Did this dinosaur finally give out?" Ronan chuckled as he came over. He tried to click on the box several times and restart it before giving up and getting under the table, looking through the connections to ensure everything was plugged in.
"Here, let me try to unplug and plug back in. That usually works."
I put my legs to the side while staring at the screen, waiting for him to fix it, when the office door nearly flew off the handles. I jumped at the sound of the door hitting the wall. Christa stood there, looking angry as hell with a red face and veins in her neck about to pop. "Where is he?"
