It had been a few days since Christa had been arrested. Everyone took turns watching over me. I had gone into some deep depression after visiting my mom's grave. I didn't get out much and did the bare minimum. My sadness was also due to not seeing Ronan. He ran to the pack house to determine the details of her punishment when she was taken away. I was not my usual self, but it didn't mean my friends didn't still care about me.
Katie was in my room with me, reading her Spanish essay to me to help her find mistakes. I was taking French, but I was also fluent in Spanish. Her quarter exam was to write an essay on one of many battles and tell the story in Spanish, which worked on their reading, writing, and speaking skills.
She sat on the floor surrounded by her few draft papers while I had my back on my bed, legs crossed against the wall. My head rested on her shoulder as a pillow while I was upside down. My eyes were closed to focus on her story, which was pretty good. "Well, I still need to write an ending paragraph, but how am I doing so far?"
"Muy buena, sigue así" I gave a thumbs up and smiled.
"Thanks, I feel ten times better."
"Lo estás haciendo genial, no te preocupes amigo."
"Ok, you show off, English now." She laughed and pushed on my head, which made me smile too.
"You're doing great, don't worry. When is it due?"
"Next week, no big deal now, but I just needed some confidence booster."
There was a knock on my door as it opened. Henry and Ronan walked in. I was happy to see him but stayed where I was. Henry snorted at us. "Well, look at you two, so adorable."
"She was helping me with my paper." She lifted the paper to show him.
"Oh good, she was worried all week about it."
"Well, she is doing great." I moved my head to the side to kiss Katie's cheek.
She blushed madly and held her face. "Ali! Keep it in your pants!"
"Why are you blushing, huh?" I teased her.
"Yeah, why are you blushing? Also, don't kiss my mate." His tone was also teasing, but he sounded cold towards me.
I pointed a finger at the large man. "Hey! I kissed her way before you did, buddy!"
"What?" Henry boomed while staring his big brown eyes at Katie.
"Hold on, I can explain." She chuckled at the memory. "We snuck out one time to go to a concert, and while getting something to drink, someone kept hitting on us, so Ali told them to leave us alone because we were there together and uninterested in men."
"No, I told them to fuck off and leave my girlfriend and me alone."
"Sounds like my girl," Ronan smirked as he crossed his arms.
When he called me his girl, my entire body lit up as if I was melting. Katie went on as I stared at him. "Well, he told us to prove it, and he wouldn't bother us. So we pecked on the lips, a simple kiss. He didn't believe it, so we had to kiss for real to get him to leave. Say what you want. He was weird and creepy. I would do it again, too, because he did leave us alone."
"Whatever, you'd kiss me again for the fun of it."
"That too, you're an excellent kisser!"
"Oh yeah? Bring it in, baby!" I made kissing noises in her ear while she laughed, making my head bob.
"As cute a couple you make, I need my girl. Time to meet up with the parents." Henry chuckled. I heard Katie's breath hitch.
"Aw, tell Dawson and Marge I said hi!"
