The safe house was huge. It was a two-story house surrounded by a heavily wooded area and sat just off the beach, but you could hear the waves from the porch. As you walked inside, you were in a vast living room connected to an open kitchen. A considerable glass back window and door revealed a pool and patio. The master bedroom, Ronan and I's room, was off the kitchen, and the other bedrooms were upstairs. Henry, Gabe, and Katie joined us. The only way to reach us was an untraceable radio as we left our phones and other devices at the house.

We weren't under any sort of surveillance and had a month's worth of food with us, unsure of how long we were going to need to be here until she was found. Considering how deep the cut was, my leg wasn't completely healed yet. Although my wolf abilities did help speed up the healing process enough for me to walk on it, my muscles were still slightly affected. I could run and jump, but I had to be careful not to overdo it. I sighed. Ronan came from behind me, wrapping his arms around me and holding me tight. "I know it's not five stars, but it will do, right?"

"Yeah." My voice broke as I felt a tear fall down my cheek. Ronan moved in front of me, holding my hips.

His sapphire blue eyes were full of concern. The corners of his mouth pointed down into a frown, and his eyebrows knitted together. "Hey, hey! What's wrong, baby?"

I avoided his gaze. His face made me feel even worse, but he pulled my chin up to look at him. "I just feel bad. Everyone has to get up and move here in the middle of nowhere because of me. There are so many people out there looking for this psycho who threatened me while I am doing nothing to try to find her?"

"Hey, this pack would do this for anyone in this situation. This is insane." Henry added to our hug as he entered the room with Katie, who hugged me from behind. "If it makes you feel better, we can continue training for a fight. My dad taught me some things before I left."

"Yeah, it helps a little." Ronan smiled at me and wiped a tear from my face.

"I know everything is a little weird and not making sense now, but we just love and worry about you. Take it easy for now, ok?" He kissed my forehead, and it worked ever so slightly. There it was again, that word, but said to me as if he spoke for the whole room instead of just himself.

I wanted to say it to him, but I wanted to say it when we were alone and when it meant something.

Luckily, there was some comfort in training. Every morning, Henry and I spared. I also trained with Katie, teaching her what I knew. There was an outdoor gym where I worked on my muscles and tried to grow my strength. One of my main concerns was a surprise attack, so everyone took turns attacking me out of the blue.

Henry attacked me as I took the trash outside, and I was able to pull him over my shoulder. Gabe charged me as I was walking out of my room for the morning, and I was able to push against the wall to slam him against the other side of the hall and make him let me go. Katie even tied my hands together and drag me out of bed in the middle of the night, so I had to fight with my hands behind my back. Ronan even took his shot at me a few times. Each time, I could beat or shake them off somehow.

Today, Henry took me to the backyard, where we battled and fought as wolves in case they attacked when we were out on the run, or I had to phase to run away. He jumped at me, and I was able to dodge and grab his neck. If I bit down, I would break it. He whined for me to let go of him. I released him, and we headed back to the house. Gabe and Ronan had a map rolled out to cover the entire dining table. "No, Elliot is a big fan of Ali, and his relationship with my dad has really increased and improved lately. I believe, and I have a strong feeling, he is not the one helping her."
