(Alastor x Lonely! Daughter of Cupid! Reader)

Summary: After spending centuries serving humanity by helping humans find their true love, you start feeling depressed over not having your own special someone.

So when you come face to face with the incredibly handsome Radio Demon, and he expresses an interest in you once you get past your tense first meeting, you decide to give him a chance. Hoping that this will be the year where you finally find your Soulmate.

"Okay, let's do this..." You thought, taking a deep breath as you sat perched in the top of a tall tree, and aimed your bow and arrow at your target. Your eyes narrowed with focus.

"Ready... Aim... Fire!"

And with that final word, you released the string of your bow. Sending the arrow shooting through the air with a hiss before it then pierced the back of your target, and exploded into a burst of pink and red sparkles, as the man that you had just shot froze in his tracks, and looked at the woman that he was about to pass by.

Then, with a warm smile, he turned, and walked over to her. Offering her his hand for a handshake, and introducing himself.

You then smiled, as the woman returned the gesture with a light blush, and shyly tucked some hair behind her ear before the two started up a conversation.

"Yes! Another successful match if I do say so myself." You laughed softly to yourself, as you watched the soon to be couple get to know each other. "And I do."

It was February 14th. The day otherwise known as Valentine's Day, and what were you doing?

Your job of course.

You were the daughter of Cupid, and therefore, had the job of playing matchmaker for the Mortals alongside your father, and sometimes, Aphrodite. The Goddess of Love.

And for the most part, you loved it. Not just because you were a hopeless romantic, but because you understood the power of love, and how much it could improve someone's life.

You had seen many depressed, lonely, and despondent people, turn into happy, fulfilled, and excited individuals after they met their Soulmate, and it never failed to fill you with a sense of accomplishment and pride.

But there was one downside.

Because for as wonderful as it was to help others find their other half, it also left you with your own feeling of loneliness.

After all, you were an immortal goddess, and one that seemed destined to spend life alone, despite spreading love all throughout the Mortal realm. All because you weren't supposed to become attached to a human yourself, and would always outlive them if you did.

So while Valentine's Day was a day of love and celebration for most people, mainly couples, it was also a day that highlighted how lonely you felt.

You just didn't think it was fair. Why should you, the embodiment of love, have to spend your eternal existence alone?

Why couldn't you just-

"(Y/N)."

You jumped when you heard the familiar voice of your father, and turned to see none other than Cupid himself sitting on the tree branch behind you. A stern expression on his face.

"O-Oh, I'm sorry, Father." You apologized sheepishly, bowing your head slightly. "I didn't hear you arrive. What do you need?"

Cupid sighed, and shook his head. Flying down to stand next to you, and gently placing a hand on your shoulder.
