Chapter Thirty-Five━━ Flushed

❝Liz was lucky that she took her shower before Ethan.❞ Her daily routine was being the first to shower. She was already awake before everyone since she doesn't sleep much.
As Ethan was in the shower, he sang at the top of his lungs, "I am so clean. Do you know what I mean? My friends are kind of freaky. That doesn't bother me."
Throughout his whole shower, Liz hurried her head under her pillows, muffling the sound of her brothers horrid singing. When his singing turned into yelling, she was intrigued. Supposedly the water just cut off in the middle of his shower, and now he has to go to school with wet hair.
The damp hair looks was not flattering at all. Liz made sure to keep at least 3 feet in-between her and Ethan, and Benny now. Benny was also in the shower when the water cut off. Their whole block was now without water.
When they got to school, everyone was looking at the boys and laughing. Liz took it up on herself to leave the embarrassment to the boys and went to go find Rory. But when they met up, their paths crossed with the two boys.
"Nice hair guys." Rory laughs at them. Liz held her laughter in but her smile told them that she was laughing at them, still.
"Yeah, yeah. Our shower cut out right before we could rinse. Our whole street lost water pressure." Ethan tells the blonde.
"You were both in the shower at the same time?" Rory laughs again at the thought. Liz slaps his arm gently with the tip of her fingers.
"Well, I was in the middle of this deep conditioning treatment." Benny plays with his hair. He saw the looks everyone was giving him and stuttered. "People aren't just born with hair this thick and shiney. All right?" A girl comes from around the corner and begins to walk up to them. "Hey. What's up, hotty?"
The girl looked at him with a small disgusted look and shook her head before picking up her pace to leave.
"Hmm. There's no one at this school that's got it worst than us."
"Probably not." Liz laughs.

❝It was now time for Chemistry.❞ Liz and Kate were lab partners and sat at the back of the class in a corner to themselves. Their module was all laid out with beakers, minerals, and their spreadsheet with their assignment on it.
The assignment was on Water Chemistry. They'd test out different mineral solutions to change the color of the water. Mr. Hofmeister, the girls teacher, explained the assignment to the class. As they waited for the lecture to be done, the girls organized their table. They lined their beakers, put their boiling pan under the sink faucet, and laid out the minerals in front of each beaker.
