Broken-hearted,
A feeling of pain and emptiness
A feeling of loss and longing
A feeling of sadness and despair

Broken-hearted is a feeling of defeat
The feeling of being alone and rejected
The feeling of not being enough
The feeling of sorrow and regret.

Broken-hearted is a feeling that haunts us
That haunts our thoughts and our dreams
It haunts our waking hours and it haunts our sleep
It haunts our days and our nights.

And the heartbreak only grows
As we realize just how much we've lost.
