He is the original. The most powerful of us all. He is Cupid himself. And he has been matched... with you.

Lila Black doesn't believe in matchmaking, let alone soul mates. So then why is she constantly being hassled by the Cupids Matchmaking Service? But this gilded, cherub-bedecked dating agency isn't exactly what it seems... and it's about to turn Lila's entire world upside down.

It turns out that Cupids Matchmaking is the real deal. As in, it's run by actual cupids--who don't look at all like they do in the paintings--and they have a serious problem with Lila's "match." Because this guy shouldn't be in the system. He shouldn't have a match. And while he's irresistibly hot, he's also incredibly dangerous. Because Lila's true-love match is Cupid. The original bad boy of love. And he wants her.

Now Lila's once-normal teenaged world has exploded into a mythological nightmare overrun by crime-lord sirens, wrathful cupid hit men, magic arrows that cause no end of trouble, and a mischievous, not-so-angelic love god she can't seem to stop herself from falling for...

The romantic in me always loves stories like these, where you know they're based in romance, but you're excited for the action parts anyway. I absolutely loved this book! It was a spin on mythology and soulmates that I have never seen before, and I loved it every step of the way.

Lila isn't like the protagonist seen in most Wattpad novels where she immediately swoons for the love interest, and they fight the big evil side by side. Lila is so much more complex than that. She shares the anger, fear, confusion, and more that I would expect from an actual human in her place.

The novel is very down to Earth and refreshing in that regard, despite its direct foundation in fantasy. The characters felt realistic, the plot was an absolute showstopper, and I am beyond excited to continue the adventures of Lila, Cupid, Cal, Crystal, and Charlie across books two and three posted on Wattpad!

I would rate this novel 4/5 stars. It'll definitely make its way onto a reread list at some point in my future. And it gets extra points for style-- this cover is absolutely gorgeous!
