A DOUBLE EXECUTION APPROACHES.
BUT TWO THIEVES HAVE OTHER PLANS.

The New Empire intends to mark its victory over the Nationalists with a bloody celebration. On the high holiday of Wintertide, the Witch of Melengar will be burned and the Heir of Novron executed. On that same day the empress faces a forced marriage, with a fatal accident soon to follow. The New Empire is confident in the totality of its triumph but there's just one problem--Royce and Hadrian have finally found the true Heir of Novron.

Holy wow. This was all I could really think after consuming such an artful masterpiece. Sullivan truly outdid himself with a perfect ending that I didn't think could've been possible. I have been absolutely blown away by these books, and I am beyond grateful that I was given the recommendation to read such a powerful series.

The author's usage of different and even conflicting point of views allows for such a completely immersive experience, with the action always changing as you jump from storyline to storyline. Each character felt like more than words on a page, as if they are actual people with real backstories and personalities. The women have been written in such a time period realistic and absolutely gorgeous way, finding strength in themselves beyond the ordinary way of hoisting forth a sword and joining the knights in battle.

Hadrian and Royce are such a memorable duo, the sunshine and moonlight of the novels as they both shine in their unique ways. Of course, they're not the only ones--
Arista, Alric, Thrace/Modina, Gwen, Myron, the Pickerings, Esrahaddon all stand out in incredible ways... even those less favorable such as Degan, Magnus, Merrick, Guy, and Saldur are still completely unforgettable, and there are so many others who truly made these books what they are.

I'd rate this book 5/5 stars. It was an honor and a privilege that I was allowed to lay my eyes upon such a masterpiece. I cannot wait to delve further into the world of Elan with Sullivan's other works. I firmly believe there is an alternate universe where The Riyria Revelations took the place of The Lord of the Rings in shaping the world's view and understanding fantasy literature.
