Undercover!! Kenma x Spy reader

Chapter 5

It's been now four weeks since I had first come to school. My life and the mission went by smoothly. School was fun, the people were nice and I even got closer to applemap, my idol! I almost dozed away as the gentle breeze carassed my face. I suddenly felt the dull end of something touch my arm on which my head was resting. I directly shot my eyes open out of instinct but instead of seeing a criminals faces,  I looked into the confused gaze from Kenma. My expression softened as I looked into his cat like eyes. 

„The period is over, (U/n)" Kenma retrieved his arm and the pencil. „Were you asleep the whole time?", he asked quietly while he turned his chair to my desk. My cheeks heated in embarrassement and quickly avoided his gaze. „No, I was about to though" Get your head together, Lazulite! This is an important mission and my reflexes are already getting worse. I should have been able to stop the pencil before it could touch me, but I didn't! What is up with me! Am I getting used to this normal lifestyle? 

„Sorry to interrupt your sleep then..", he said aloofly in an almost teasing tone. He pulled his so famous PSP out of his bag and turned it on. „Hey! Don't make fun of me!", I said nudging him. „Oh! Is this the new release of the sun eater? I haven't played the newest one yet!" I quickly forgot about the previous thing Kenma had said and my eyes were now fixed on his screen.

„Yeah. But I haven't defeat the main boss till now. It's pretty hard..", he said as his thumbs pressed on the controller. „Really? Maybe you just suck?"

„Maybe", he said as he continued to play. My eyes were pulled in towards his screen and the tranquility that fell over us wasn't uncomfortable at all. Over the last weeks we got closer and closer. I would consider him as a friend even outside of the mission. A victorious melody played out of the device and my mouth formed an oh. „You actually won! How cool! Hey, can I try too?"

Kenma smiled slighty before handing me his PSP. He had never been able to be this open with anyone. She seemed so mature at the beginning but after the last few weeks the inner child inside of her awakened. It sometimes seemed like she was another person. But he felt the same when he was with her. He didn't feel like he shouldn't be saying anything. He could be himself around her, even if it sounds pretty cliché. Honestly, he really is grateful having her as his friend. 

„Hehehe.. I will win this... Just like... that! See that, Kenma!" I held the consol to his face as I beamed proudly at him. Was this a genuine emotion I felt? I was behaving so childish, even more than I do normally. Like my true colors shone through the big curtains of faux maturity. 

He looked at the screen before smiling again. It was these type of moments that brought the best feelings with them. The smile he had shown me was so unbelievably beautiful enough to make my heart flutter. I had never noticed how dazzling he looked. It was like the world stopped for this single moment just to catch his smile and print it into my brain. The warm september sunbeams tickeled on my skin and as if that had gotten me out of my admiration, I quickly shook my head. 

„Well, I guess I am a tiny bit better than you! I did it on my first try!", I said triumphantly, trying to hide this new feeling I had never noticed before. „Yes. I think you play very well." There it was again. Like a wave of warm fuzzy cotton candy around me. „You did play these games since their release, didn't you say that?", he continued. My smile slightly broke at his words. These Lies. 

Everything he knows about me is a big, planned web made out of lies. My identity? A lie. That I played video games since I can think? A lie. I started playing 3 days before I officially met him. That my parents work overseas? A lie. I don't even know them. That I went to this school because it had a good reputation? A lie. I only am here for my mission. But I will never be able to tell him all that.
