SEVEN MONTHS LATER

"It hurts, you idiot!" Pete shouted as Vegas gripped his leg a little too tightly as he massaged his swollen legs.

"Sorry, love. I was lost in thoughts and I didn't realize" explained Vegas, and Pete had lowered his legs from Vegas's lap and had come closer to him.

"What happened?" the man asked lightly.Vegas looked into Pete's eyes and hugged him tightly.

In a few moments, Pete felt Vegas's tears wet his shirt. Pete took his husband in his arms, patting his back, trying to calm him down. After the marriage proposal, the two got married 2 months later, and since then their practical life had become a paradise. Except that since Vegas woke up in the middle of the night, he went to the balcony to smoke. Everyone knew that if Vegas smoked, something bad was going to happen. Pete had tried to find out what was going on with his husband, but Vegas just smiled and said that everything was fine.

"Shh...calm down" Pete tried to calm Vegas down.

"I'm so scared, Pete" Vegas started to say, and Pete slowly moved away to see Vegas's face.

"I'm afraid of what will happen after Venice is born. If I won't be able to be the father he needs?"

Pete smiled and leaned in kissing Vegas.

"Everything will be fine, dear. Don't worry anymore. As long as you love him, everything will come by itself" said Pete, taking Vegas in his arms again. Except that what Vegas didn't know was that he wasn't going to become the father of one child, but of two. Pete had secretly had a consultation because he thought his belly was too big, and the news that he was going to have twins had shocked him. A boy and a girl. Pete had chosen not to tell Vegas, but he would find out at the birth.

TWO WEEKS LATER

Pete had just dropped the mug he was holding on the floor, shattering it. A sharp pain in the back made him cry out and fall to his knees, and Vegas came running to his husband. Pete opened his eyes and felt a pain in the lower abdomen as if someone was trying to stick a knife in his stomach.

"I think I'm in labor" Pete said as he felt another contraction coming.

Vegas, hearing this, took Pete in his arms and went down to the car with him, putting him in the passenger seat, and Vegas, once in the driver's seat, started for the hospital. Many horns and 10 minutes later,Pete was being taken to the delivery room. The doctor and the nurses were preparing for the operation because they couldn't get the baby out other way than by caesarean section. Well, babies. Pete looked towards Vegas, and the latter gently shook his hand, assuring him that he would be present in the delivery room, next to him.

A few moments later, a nurse had injected Pete with the anesthetic, and he could no longer feel his body from the arm down. Modern medicine allows anesthesia only on certain parts of the body, so Pete could see his children coming out of the womb.

"Are you ready, Mr. Theerapanyakul?" asked the doctor, scalpel in hand, and Pete just nodded.

"Then, let's begin" continued the doctor, after which the scalpel touched Pete's skin, cutting deeply.

After a few good minutes, the doctor picked up a baby announcing the new parents of their son's presence. Venice was taken and placed on Pete's chest, the latter crying and placing a kiss on his son's crest. While Pete and Vegas were busy with their new baby, a second child's cry was heard in the hall. Vegas looked curiously at the sound, and Pete started to cry even harder.

"And this is your girl. Congrats. Time of birth 06:47 PM" said the doctor, after which he sewed up Pete's abdomen, congratulated the new parents once more, then left the room, leaving the nurses to deal with it now. Pete had been moved to a living room where he could talk quietly with his husband and be with his children.

Vegas looked confused at Pete, and the latter had tears in his eyes watching his daughter cry in her father's arms.

"We have twins. One day, when you were not at home, I went to do a check-up because it seemed strange to have such a big belly for only one child. When I found out we were going to have twins, I decided not to tell you and you would find out at the birth" explained Pete, and Vegas smiled, looking at the little being in his arms.

"What do you want to call it?" Vegas asked. The two had made a pact. If the baby was going to be a boy, Vegas was going to name him, but if it was a girl, the name was going to be chosen by Pete.

The 4-month check-up was lucky for Vegas because he was told they were expecting a boy, so Vegas decided to name him Venice to keep the tradition.

"Paris" Pete said and Vegas nodded and smiled, leaning into Pete and kissing him.

"If Venice starts with a V like your name, then my daughter's name should start with the same letter as my name" explained Pete and Vegas chuckled.

For many, happiness means wealth, palaces, luxury cars. For Vegas and Pete, their happiness was their two children. Venice was in Pete's arms, and Paris in Vegas's. The two men looked at each other, smiling, tears being present in their eyes.

Their happiness was then and there. Nothing and no one could have destroyed this moment. And when Vegas heard Venice crying in Pete's arms, he knew that everything was worth it in the end.

Both had found their happiness.

They had found their soul mate.

And what a beautiful feeling it was...
