Sunoo stood in front of the math club door, but his mind kept circling back to the strange events from the day before. Who in the world had stolen his journal and slapped a picture of Sunghoon in it? And why had he completely lost it after being hit by a simple ball? He shook his head, trying to push the confusion aside. "No, focus. I need to find that girl."

He reached for the door handle and tugged, but it wouldn't budge. Sunoo groaned, his frustration growing as he checked the club's schedule. It was already 8 a.m.—the room should have been open by now. He muttered under his breath, "Stupid clubs..." He was about to give up and head somewhere else when a soft voice piped up behind him.

"S-sorry."

Sunoo turned around to see a boy with puppy-like features and oversized glasses, looking nervously at the door. The boy quickly stepped past him, murmuring a quick "Excuse me," before effortlessly opening the door and holding it for Sunoo.

Sunoo blinked, then dramatically patted the boy's shoulder like he was some kind of savior. "Thank the lords!" he exclaimed, slipping into the room. He paused, glancing back at the boy with a grateful grin. "You're a lifesaver, really."

The boy—clearly uncomfortable—gave a shy nod, avoiding eye contact. Not wanting things to get awkward, Sunoo cleared his throat and asked, "What's your name?" He chuckled lightly, hoping to ease the tension a bit.

The boy's glasses started fogging up as he shifted nervously, barely whispering, "My name is Sim Jaeyun, but you can call me Jake."

Sunoo perked up, hopping onto a nearby desk and letting his legs swing freely. "Jake, huh?" His eyes widened with recognition. "Wait a second, are you the Jake? The one who's super smart and basically gives this school its reputation? That's you?"

Jake gave a small, humble smile and nodded, sitting down in a chair. "It's not all that," he mumbled, clearly not used to the attention.

Sunoo was practically vibrating with excitement. "Dude, that's amazing! My mom would love you!" He glanced around the room, noticing how empty it was. "Wait... where is everyone?"

Jake adjusted his glasses, looking around the empty space. "They usually don't come in until around 10."

"10?!" Sunoo nearly jumped off the desk. "So I'm early for nothing?" He sighed dramatically before remembering why he was here. "Actually, I'm not here for myself. I'm on a mission to find a girl," he said, his tone filled with urgency. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Jake's expression change, a small pout forming on his lips.

"Uh... is she someone you li—"

Sunoo jumped up, cutting him off. "Don't get the wrong idea!" he said defensively. "She just asked for my help, but I don't even know her name."

Jake looked at him, clearly puzzled. "And you think she's part of the math club?"

"Pretty sure," Sunoo replied with a sigh. "She wore glasses like yours, and she had this vibe... like she was twice our age or something. Long straight hair, kind of messy with strands falling in front of her face." He nodded to himself, satisfied with the description.

Jake's face lit up, recognition flashing in his eyes. "Oh, you mean Seo Hanna? Yeah, she's kind of obsessed with Park Sunghoon."

Sunoo's ears perked up at the mention of Sunghoon, curiosity instantly sparked. "Obsessed? What do you mean?"

Jake nodded, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Yeah, but not in a creepy way. More like, you know, first love kind of obsession."

For the first time since they'd started talking, Sunoo noticed Jake smiling openly, the warmth in his expression making the atmosphere lighter. But then, something else caught Sunoo's eye—a faint blush creeping onto Jake's cheeks.

Sunoo raised an eyebrow, catching the shift in Jake's demeanor. Without missing a beat, he asked, "Wait... do you like her?"

Jake's eyes widened, and he quickly shook his head. "No, no! I like Sunghoon—" He slapped his hand over his mouth, eyes going wide in horror. Before Sunoo could even process what he'd just heard, Jake bolted for the door and disappeared, leaving Sunoo standing there, stunned.

"What?!" Sunoo yelled, the door clicking shut behind Jake. He stood frozen in place, his mind racing to catch up with what just happened.

"When is this never-ending saga going to end?" he muttered to himself, letting out a long sigh.
