15: Never gonna bail you out

They were behind bars...

Sunoo and Niki found themselves in a cramped, dingy jail cell, surrounded by cold metal bars. The weight of their predicament pressed down on Sunoo, while Niki seemed utterly unfazed, letting out loud, exasperated sighs that echoed through the small space.

"Can you please stop sighing?!" Sunoo finally snapped, unable to take it anymore. "We're in this mess because of your ridiculous suggestion!"

Niki rolled his eyes and crossed his arms defensively. "Hey, let's not forget that we're here because you actually listened to me!" A hint of amusement danced in his voice, even in the face of their predicament.

Just when Sunoo thought things couldn't get any worse, he heard the sound of footsteps approaching. It was Jungwon, who had come to check on them.

"So, I can't pay for your ticket because someone spent all my money," Jungwon said, turning his gaze from Niki to Sunoo. "But I called your mom, so it's all good," he added, giving them a thumbs-up.

Sunoo and Niki's hearts sank at the realization of their situation. They slumped down on the cold, unforgiving floor of the cell, muttering in unison, "Yep, this is the day we die."

Jungwon let out a deep sigh. "You know what? You can't blame anyone but yourselves," he said, shaking his head slowly.

Sunoo sprang back up, and from the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of Sunghoon standing next to a police officer. To his astonishment, the officer bore a striking resemblance to the guy at the café. But what really caught his attention was that Sunghoon wasn't wearing his usual hoodie. Well, he was wearing it, but the hood was down!

A hoodless Sunghoon? In the wild? Impossible.

Startled by the unexpected sight, Sunoo jumped up from the floor. "Hey, hoodless!" he shouted, pointing at Sunghoon, who turned around with a confused expression. The police officer, however, paid no mind and simply walked away.

Niki looked up, crossing his arms with a smirk. "Oh, this is getting interesting." Jungwon shot Niki a curious look, about to ask what he meant, but Niki hushed him, nodding toward Sunghoon.

Sunghoon seemed taken aback by Sunoo's outburst, shaking his head as he pulled his hoodie back over his face, following the officer.

Sunoo lay back on the floor, eyes closed, raising his hand as if in prayer. "Please let me live!" he exclaimed dramatically. Suddenly, he grabbed Niki's leg, looking up at him with mock sincerity. "I know I don't say this often, but I love you."

Niki couldn't help but roll his eyes. "We're not dying!"

At that moment, an officer appeared, unlocking the door and surprising everyone present. "What? Is our mom already here?" Sunoo asked, confusion etching his features.

The officer merely tilted his head and opened the door, revealing the outside world. "No, it's actually the chief's son who paid for you. He said you were one of his best friends," he explained.

Ignoring the officer's statement, Sunoo crawled out of the room as if he were seeing the outside world for the first time. "I'm out!" he exclaimed, feeling a rush of freedom. Just then, he felt a sharp jab in his side.

"Ow!"

"Are you deaf? Didn't you hear what the officer said?" Jungwon scolded, looking at Sunoo as Niki moved to sit on one of the nearby benches.

Sunoo stood up, rubbing his side. "Yeah, yeah. I heard that the chief's son paid for us," he repeated, but excitement got the better of him as he shouted, "The chief's son paid for us!" Unable to believe his own words.

Niki jumped at the sudden loud exclamation, covering his ears and squinting his eyes in discomfort. "Bro, what the heck!"

Jungwon, standing next to Sunoo, quickly pulled him closer by the shoulders. "Why would you say that out loud?"

Sunoo raised his eyebrows, seemingly oblivious to his surroundings, and repeated, "The chief's son—" But before he could finish, he felt a slender, pale hand tugging him away.

Filled with panic, Sunoo yelled, "Help! I'm being abducted!" He struggled to break free, but he was dragged outside, catching a glimpse of the person responsible for his predicament. To his utter disbelief, it was none other than Sunghoon.

Or rather, the chief's son.
