The operation was still underway.

Sunoo grabbed his journal, his hands trembling as he flipped it open and punched in the number. "Come on, pick up," he muttered under his breath, tapping his foot impatiently.

The phone rang, and after what felt like an eternity, a hesitant voice answered. "H-hello? Who is this?"

Sunoo's heart leaped. He nearly shot up from his seat but quickly forced himself to relax. After a deep breath, he steadied his voice.

"Hey, Hanna. It's Sunoo. I wanted to talk about... you-know-who."

He almost choked on the words, grimacing as he spoke. On the other end, Hanna let out an excited shriek, so loud he had to pull the phone away from his ear.

"Oh my God, thank you so much! Let's meet at the café in front of school later, okay?"

Before he could respond, the call ended. He blinked at the phone, realizing they hadn't even set a time.

With a smug grin, Sunoo crossed his arms. Helping Hanna with her crush while getting revenge at the same time? Genius. He nodded to himself, satisfied. "It's going to be perfect."

But his moment of triumph was short-lived. If he wanted to pull this off, he needed to figure out who Sunghoon was interested in—and that meant talking to him. Sunoo's stomach turned at the thought. After everything that had happened earlier, he wanted nothing to do with Sunghoon. He barely even wanted to be in the same room as him. No way.

"Sunoo!"

He turned at the sound of his name, spotting Jungwon jogging toward him, breathless. "Man, where did you go? I've been looking for you since... well, you know."

Sunoo's eyes scanned the room, searching. "Where's Jake?"

"Club meeting. He won't be back till tomorrow," Jungwon panted, hands on his knees.

Sunoo frowned, crossing his arms. "Then it's time to put the plan in motion."

Jungwon's eyes widened. "Wait, you haven't started yet?"

Sunoo rested a hand on Jungwon's shoulder and sighed dramatically. "Creating a plan isn't easy, especially when it involves dealing with that moody, brooding emo."

"Emo? Who are you talking about?"

Sunoo mimed pulling up a hoodie. "Obviously not you. Who else walks around like a hoodie-wearing zombie?"

Jungwon squinted. "Okay, but spill. What happened at the principal's office?"

Sunoo hesitated, groaning in frustration. "Ugh, fine. He took the blame for me and said I owe him a favor." He made air quotes around the word "favor." "But no way am I doing anything for that guy."

Jungwon tilted his head. "But what if he asks you to do something involving Hanna?"

Sunoo waved his hands in the air. "Come on, man, stay focused!"

Sunoo locked eyes with Jungwon, suddenly looking pitiful. "Look, Hanna wants to meet me at the café later, so..."

Jungwon crossed his arms, narrowing his eyes. "And you want me to go with you, don't you?"

Sunoo grinned, bouncing on his toes. "See? You know me so well!" Without waiting for an answer, he grabbed Jungwon's wrist and tugged him toward the exit.

"Dude, I never agreed to this!"

Sunoo shot him a mischievous glance over his shoulder. "The operation starts now! And guess what? You're part of it whether you like it or not."

Jungwon let out a long groan, but reluctantly followed.
