1985

It is in a rural area somewhere in northern Japan. A 30-year-old Albert Kelly is sitting in a foldable chair outside his house in the backyard with a drink in his hand. He is smiling while watching his two older children playing. 5-year-old little Aaron Kelly and 4-Year-old little Rita Kelly. They are currently playing in the sandbox right now. Albert takes another sip of his drink. After finishing, he sees a familiar little boy with white hair in front of him with a wide grin on his face. Some of his baby teeth were missing, like any little child at that age losing teeth.

"Aaron!" Albert said, surprised. "Me and Rita made you a present, daddy!" Aaron said as he gave his father a box. It said, "2 DADDY". "Hey, you guys didn't have to make me this." Albert said as he opened the box. It was a card. The white-haired man took out the card and opened it. It was a drawing of two small stick figures, one with white hair and the other with blonde hair, holding the hands of a bigger stick figure, with white hair too. It said, "WE LUV U DADDY".

"Hey, buddy, thank you for making this for me. You and your sister this... this means a lot." Albert said as he sniffled. "Are you ok, daddy?" Aaron asked. "Oh, I'm fine son, just fine." Albert said as he wiped his eyes.

"Albert!" a woman of East Asian descent called out his name. She also looked to be a few months pregnant. This was Albert's wife, Akiko, who was pregnant with their 4th child They decided to name her Miyabi, who was due in a few short months.

"Yeah, what is it, babe?" Albert asked. "Sumiko's getting fussy. I think it's your turn to change her." the woman said. "What about these two little goblins?" Albert asked. "I'll keep an eye on them." the woman said. "Love you, Akiko." Albert said. "Love you, too, koibito." Akiko said as the married couple kissed before switching areas.

After a while, Albert came back out with a baby Sumiko who wasn't even a year old. He looked outside the glass and saw Akiko playing with Aaron and Rita. He smiled as Sumiko just tapped the glass with her tiny hand over and over.

"Let's go, sweetie." Albert said as they went out.

12 years later...

1998

It is in a house on a ranch in Missoula, Montana. A family of 6 lives in this house. A man, Albert his wife, Akiko and 4 children. 17-year-old Aaron, 16-year-old Rita, 14-year-old Sumiko, and 13-year-old Miyabi. They are one happy family.

Right now, Akiko is yelling at Aaron. What did he do? He thought it would be funny to prank the neighbors by putting fake blood all over himself and pretending to be dead when they were visiting.

Needless to say, he got quite the angry mouthful from his mother.

After she left, he just sat back down in his chair. That's when Albert walked in. "Hey, dad." Aaron said. "Hey, son." Albert said. "I know, I know, you're mad. Please I already got a lot from mom." Aaron said. "I know, son and I'm not mad, just disappointed." Albert said. "So, what brings you here?" Aaron asked. "I was just going to ask about the concert?" Albert asked his son. "Mom said that I'm grounded, and I can't go. That's what pisses me off." Aaron said. "Hey, I get it, but you know, you commit the crime, you pay the price." Albert said. He then got closer and closer to Aaron.

"Alright. I got a little secret." Albert said as he pulled out 2 tickets. Aaron's face went in awe. "Ssshh... don't tell mom." Albert said. Aaron nodded yes rapidly. "We'll go when ready." Albert said. "I can't believe I'm going to see Coal Chamber live!" Aaron said excitedly.

8 years later...

2006

It was Albert and Aaron at a bar in Bismarck, North Dakota. The father and son just had another round of shots. They decided to go because well, it's been a while since they talked and did something together.

"Dad..." Aaron said, "I just want you to know...". "Yeah, son?" Albert said. "Ever since Brittney was born, I just feel like a completely different person." Aaron said. "Well, that's the joy and beauty of being a father, sport. You enjoy it. Fatherhood is a beautiful thing." Albert said, "I know it sounds dumb to say but Aaron, you're probably the best son anyone could ever ask for.". "And you're the best father anyone could ask for." Aaron said. This made Albert smile. "To family." the father and son said as they did a toast before drinking.

"Hehe, I don't know if Chiyo will approve." Aaron said. "Hey, there are a lot of things that you learn about women as time goes on when you're married. I learned a lot." Albert said.

Present day, 2023

Albert shot up awake out of his bed, wiping sweat off his forehead. He decided to call a person he's known for a long time.

"Akiko, yeah, hi. Listen, I have some news to tell you... I'm coming back. That's right. Yep. And it's about Aaron, I can't stop having dreams and memories from him. I hear his voice and laughter.  everywhere. We need to talk about it. I know. I miss you too. Bye." Albert said as he hung up.

After the call, he lied back down on his bed.

"I know I gave justice but was his death partially my fault?"
