It was now the day after Temetrius confessed.
Tension in the house was now way thicker than before.
Maria was still paying Temetrius no mind, he and Kk had been arguing nonstop, and Kaari's just been Kaari.
The only sane one in the house.
Kk sat on the couch reading one of her favorite books 'Perfect Addiction'.
Temetrius comes in, sitting on the opposite side of her.
He kicks his feet up, placing them on Kk's lap which caused her to look up from her book.
"What was the reason." she hits his foot with the hard book cover.
"The fuck." he puts his feet down "I wanted to ask you a question."
She rolled her eyes; she knew it was about to be some bull.
"Have you made up your mind about staying down here yet?" Temetrius asked.
"No, I'm still leaving Ja. You can't change that." she replied.
Kk went back into her book.
Temetrius took a breath in and out. "Since you leaving, I have something to tell you."
He called for Maria to come downstairs.
Maria heard him but ignored him until he sounded real serious while calling her name.
She threw on one of Temetrius's large shirts to fully cover her belly then made her way down the stairs.
"Yes J- Temetrius?" she stood in front of him.
He sat her on his lap.
The room was silent, Kk waited to hear what Temetrius had to tell her.
"Ok." he took another breath "This might not be the easiest news for you to hear, but..."
Temetrius grabs hold of Maria's hand.
Kk rolls her neck "What is it Ja, Temetrius, whatever you go by. What?"
Him not saying anything made her anxious.
"Ja." she sits her book on coffee table.
Temetrius looked at Kk, then Maria, before lifting her shirt to reveal her growing baby bump.
"We having a baby." he says.
Kk's eyes narrowed at Temetrius.
"Really? After everything we went through, you get her pregnant?!" She was in front of them, shouting in his face.
"I know it's hard on you." Temetrius moved Maria from his lap, pulling Kk closer to him.
"I'm sorry, things just happen." he says.
Kk stares down at Temetrius.
"Does she know?" her eyes shifted to Maria.
Temetrius shook his head yes.
Kk lets out a small laugh "And she stayed? Pathetic."
Maria paid her comments no mind because her mind was wandering somewhere else.
Reality did nothing but hurt Maria.
She made up a place in her mind where nothing could.
Not Kk, not Temetrius, not herself, not even her dreams could hurt her.
It may have sounded odd, but to Maria, it made perfect sense.
Her escape was better than feeling all the pain and emotions she felt when she was in touch with reality.
