Isabelle's POV
"So......?" My mum sing-sang immediately I entered the house. She and my twelve year old sister, Ashley, have been waiting in the living room for me.
"So......?" My sister sing-sang as well.
"So......?" I joined in the sing-songing marathon.
"How was it?" my mum asked.
"Was he cute?" Ashley asked.
"Does he seem presentable?" mom asked.
"Is he nice?" Ashley asked.
"Is he-" my mom was about to ask another question but I cut her off.
"Okay, okay, okay. The questions are enough, the meet-up was fine, he is cute, nice, and presentable... Ashley I need to see you in my room for a moment. Umm... I'm not going to eat anything this night, I am already full and I have a lot of take-away." I was indirectly talking to my mom sensing that she had cooked something huge to celebrate. "Yeah, that's all. I'm very tired so I'll go to my room now. Ashley?"
I signaled Ashley to follow me to my room waving goodbye to my mum with my free hand whilst my other hand held my heels and a souvenir bag containing lots of take-away plates given to me by my future mother-in-law.
"So, why did you want to see me?" Ashley said as she sat on my bed. I was standing in front of my mirror removing my jewelry.
"Do you know Bryan in my class?" I asked.
"Yes na. Is he not the one you like?" I looked at her and gave her a playful eye-roll. She ignored my glare.
"What about him?"
"He was the guy at the 'partner reveal', the one I have to get married to."
Ashley looked like she'd seen a ghost. "Eehn?! God when? I wish I was the one that got into an arranged marriage with a boy I like."
I laughed and sat on the bed next to her. "He also asked me to be his girlfriend."
"That's good. Don't tell me you said no oo, if not I'll forget that you senior me with one year and I'll slap you."
"You don't have mind!"
"So how did he ask you?"
I blushed remembering the moment. "He was like: 'Isabelle Disemi Diseye Seriake-"
"Ah Ah! He even remembered your other names. God when oo."
"Mtcheew! Must you interrupt? Anyway, as I was saying, after he called my name, he then said: 'will you be my girlfriend?'"
"Then what did you na say? I hope you did not spoil show oo."
"Well... I said: 'Bryan Temilade Adegun-'" I stopped to see her reaction. She was laughing.
"Continue na."
I giggled and continued mimicking the dreamy voice I'd used earlier. "'-I will be your girlfriend'"
My sister shouted. "Yay, my sister has gotten her first boyfriend."
"Shut up na! Must you shout?"
"Sorry oo. I just thought you would tell him no. I'm so proud of you, now both of us have boyfriends."
"Eehn?! Ashley you have a boyfriend?"
She gave a shy look. "Yes. We started dating in-between first term last year."
"Who?"
"Your classmate na. Bryan's friend, Chinonye."
