Chapter Twelve: The Dream

The rest of the day went by as normal as it could be. After leaving the town square, the girls gave the griffin corpse to Anthea and she said she'd do a biopsy on the griffin to study its unusual and unnatural traits and report back what she's discovered. Meanwhile, the gang carried on with their lives. They played video games at the Boy's Dormitory, and then they decided to go camping in Ravenswood woods. They camped out at one of the campsites in the woods but they picked one that was a little farther from the other campsites so other campers wouldn't bother them. They set up their tents, made a fire (well, Sami made the fire by throwing a fireball at the campfire pit), and began cooking cheeseburgers and veggie burgers for Hiro and Angela. Lily and Ellen cooked the cheeseburgers on the grill while Hiro cooked the tofu burgers. Angela told them about the sand witch and how she was the one that let the griffin loose.

"I can't believe her!" She complained, "that rotten little witch! Do you know how many people could've been hurt or worse if we didn't stop that scientifically altered monster?!"

"We get it! We don't care! Give it a rest!" Yelled Jesse, "you've been complaining about it the whole time we've been setting up the campsite! It's very irritating!"

Angela's eyes flashed from blue to gray. "We?!" She yelled.

Her friends and the boys cringed in fear because this was the first time in forever they have seen Angela this angry. It was also the first time she's ever yelled at Jesse. Angela took a deep breath and her eyes turned blue again.

"You didn't help us set up our campsite at all! All you did was sit there and meditate!" Said Angela.

"I already set up MY campsite," said Jesse, "I found a tree to sleep in. I refuse to sleep in the boys' tent with you guys."

"Hey, what's wrong with sleeping in a tent with us?" Asked Troy, "we share a dorm."

"You people know exactly why! Every time you drag me into going camping you guys prank me while I'm sleeping!" Yelled Jesse.

"Oh c'mon, name one time!" Said Hiro.

"How about that one time when you people drew on my face?!" Yelled Jesse, "it took two days to get that marker off! And there was that other time you poured fake blood on my sleeping bag! And that other time when you-......"

"Okay, we get it," said Barry, "chill out dude, they were just jokes. Anyway, are the burgers ready yet?"

"There all done," said Lily, Ellen and Hiro.

The gang began to eat their cheeseburgers and tofu burgers.

"Did you know that for my people, we consider eating beef worse than cannibalism?" Said Hiro.

The girls shook their heads. The boys sighed.

"Here we go again," sighed Jesse.

"Well, it's true. Eating cows is greatly frowned upon by the people of The Island of Light," explained Hiro, "it's an old myth now, but when I was little; I heard from my grandmother that those on the Island of Light who are caught killing or eating the sacred animal are turned into cows for the rest of their lives by Lady Serena."

"Who's Lady Serena?" Asked Maya.

"She's our island's founder and ruler," said Hiro, "our people worship Apollo, Helios and Iris because Lady Serena has great respect for them. Lady Serena is one of the immortal wizard children of Light, so she can never die and rule the Island of Light for eternity if she wanted to."

"Who's Light?" Asked Sami.

"She is the source of all purity in the universe," said Jesse, "her name says it all. She is literally all of the good in the universe. She represents all of the good and innocence in the world."
