It has been over a month since the girls have arrived to Wizard City and since Lionheart and Emerald had appeared to them and offered them a chance to compete in the Wizard Games. During that month while juggling schoolwork, the girls and the guys trained themselves to prepare for the Wizard Games. The girls have been watching the Wizard Games for years and knew exactly how the Wizard Games were played. Teams made up of wizards and creatures with magical powers would compete in physical, mental and magical challenges and tried to make it to the second stage of the Wizard Games, which would be the fight portion of the competition. Each of the challenges were always hosted by one of the Game Masters, the hosts of the Wizard Games. During the month, the boys successfully performed their spell and got an A+ on their project. Afterwards, Jesse went to train with a master wizard named Azalea. Azalea is a master wizard in her forties that has mastery over all of the wizard elements and offers a training program for many of the wizard students during the summer or during the school year (with permission from Anthea of course). Although it is said that she has a very strict training program and that she pushes her trainees way over their limits. Even though her training is very strict and tough, it always guarantees wonderful results for those who take it seriously. Another major event that happened is that Angela and Hiro started dating a couple weeks ago. After the black dragon incident, they started going on dates and eventually confessed their love to each other and they have been inseparable ever since. After a month of training, the girls now stood in front of the gates of Wizard City awaiting the arrival of the boys. Sami wore a red robe that was orange below the waistline and had an orange trim on the sleeves. She also wore red pointed toe boots, carried her staff and had her hair in a ponytail. Lily wore a purple and yellow robe that was yellow below the waistline and at the long sleeves and had purple trims on the sleeves. She also wore purple boots. Maya wore a black and white robe that was black below the waistline and white on the long sleeves and torso. She wore a white hood, black boots, wore a brooch shaped like a skull on the torso of the robe and carried her staff. Ellen wore a white and icy blue robe that was blue at the torso and below the waistline and the sleeves were white. She also wore blue boots. Angela wore a robe that was light green at the torso, dark green below the waistline and had long white sleeves. She wore a green hood, light green boots and carried her staff. All of them also carried a single backpack.

"What is taking them so long?" Complained Sami, "they were supposed to be here half an hour ago!"

"I don't know, maybe they overslept," said Angela, "oh wait, never mind. Here they come!"

The boys walked towards the gate. Barry wore a red robe with yellow long sleeves and red boots. Hiro wore a robe that was dark green at the torso and white below the waistline and the long sleeves and wore white boots. Troy wore a turquoise robe that was sea green below the waist and the trims on the long sleeves were sea green and wore sea green boots. Jesse wore a black and gray robe that had a gray torso, black long sleeves with gray trims and was black below the waistline. He wore gray boots and his hair looked a bit longer and was in a ponytail. As they walked to the gate, Barry carried Jesse on his back while his backpack was strapped to his front, Troy carried a backpack on his back and on his arm and carried a light green staff with ivy vines around it and a rainbow gemstone on the top, Jesse was sleeping, and Hiro was carrying a long white staff with a black orb on the top like it was an anvil and looked tired and sweaty.

"S-Sorry we're late...." Said Hiro as he struggled to carry the staff.

"Finally! What took you guys so long?!" Complained Sami.

"We were trying to get Jesse to wake up but nothing works," said Barry, "we've tried pretty much everything we could think of but he still won't wake up. So we played Rock Paper Scissors to decide who gets to carry him and his staff. The winner got to carry just theirs and his backpack, second place carries the staff, last place carries Jesse."
