Sami has faced many tough situations in the past few months. She had faced two idiot giants, nearly drowned in a haunted subway train overflowing with water, risked her life to help an irritating wizard she didn't even like, and was trapped in a tomb with followers of the Dark One trying to take her friends and her prisoner to be killed later. However, her situation right at this very moment outranked every other terrible situation that she has found herself in. She was trapped in a vortex of swirling dark angel feathers that would slice and dice at her the instant she made direct contact. Ordinarily, this would just seem like just another day in life for her, but this time she didn't have the assistance of any of her friends. They were all outside of the vortex and rendered paralyzed due to Daniel's paralyzing angel feathers. For the first time, Sami didn't have any of her friends to fight with her. However, she did not let that detail discourage her. She knew it was up to her to stop Daniel and save her friends from being either killed or captured. Besides, she's just facing the Dark One's dark angel nephew; facing the Dark One himself would be way worse right now. The dark angel took flight. Sami readied her magical bow and arrows. The two were than locked in a stare down, waiting for the first fighter to make a move.
"So, princess," said Daniel in a mocking tone of voice, "how does it feel to be trapped? Knowing that your freedom is so close and yet so far out of your reach?"
Sami showed a smirk on her face.
"I'm not sure, why don't you ask that uncle of yours?" She said mockingly, "if I recall, wasn't your uncle sealed away in another dimension for years?"
Daniel let out a small chuckle.
"If you think the fact that your mother was one of the wizards responsible for my uncle's fifteen year long imprisonment is gonna make me vengeful, you are beyond wrong," said Daniel, "just like the existence of you and your pitiful friends."
Sami's smirk faded. Her eyes flashed with rising fury.
"Aw, did I strike a sour note?" Mocked Daniel, "but it's probably not the first time you heard someone tell you and your friends that their existence is a mistake, especially a certain four of you on your team."
Sami's hair moved violently like a blazing forest fire. If she could feel heat, she would definitely be able to tell that her body temperature was rising rapidly (seriously, you can cook food on her skin). While she was furious, she was also a bit confused at the same time. She figured Daniel was talking about her and Angela, but she had no idea who the other two "mistakes" Daniel was talking about.
"What do you mean by "a certain four of us"?!" Demanded Sami.
Daniel rolled his eyes.
"Duh, I'm talking about you, Rosalinda's brat Angie or whatever her name is, that storm wizard girl, and especially that Jesse!" Said Daniel.
Lily and Jesse......, thought Sami, what so bad about them existing?
"Your existence is nothing but a pure miracle," mocked Daniel, "I know all about you fire demon hybrids, so easy to extinguish! Which reminds me......"
Daniel flapped his angel wings, sending out sharp black feathers straight at Sami. Sami quickly used her arms to block the feathers from her face. Some of the feathers ended up leaving cuts on Sami's skin and clothing while others were impaled on her arms. The feathers caused her great pain, but she fought the urge to cry out in pain. She was always told by her mother that if anyone caused her great physical pain, showing them that she was in pain would only encourage them to keep on hurting her. Her mother also taught her it's okay for her to kick the crap out of any boy who harasses her as long as she does it off of school property. With that in mind, Sami was ready to fight back. She plucked the feathers out of her arms quickly and began shooting fire arrows at Daniel. Daniel dodged each of the arrows that came his way, but Sami noticed that the more arrows she shot at him, the slower Daniel became at dodging the arrows. After many arrows, Sami was able to make a hit. Although the arrow only scratched his right shoulder, Sami was still satisfied with the progress. The next hit was a direct one that landed in Daniel's left wing, causing him to lose balance and crash land. With Daniel now in close combat range, Sami strapped her bow onto her body and conjured magical fireballs that engulfed her fists in fire. Then she ran towards Daniel, ready to give him an incinerating beat down. When Sami got close enough to pummel Daniel with her fiery fists, she then felt a powerful gust of wind that blew her away from Daniel's body. The wind felt oddly familiar to Sami, as if she had felt it somewhere before. As Daniel stood up, Sami realized that the wind could've come from Daniel but still couldn't pinpoint where she had felt that kind of wind before. Before she could further ponder the subject, she saw Daniel's fits become engulfed with lightning. Upon seeing this, Sami finally realized what was going on.
