Chapter 5

                                  Alixa's POV
By the time I was completely functional, it was 7:12. I grabbed my stuff and saw that both of my parents had already left.

That meant...I needed to walk or have someone pick me up. I texted Sophie and she said, someone else was picking her up. I texted Skylar and River.

Skylar: Be there in a minute.

Thank god.

I won't have to walk.

I waited outside for them. River's car pulled up in front of my house. I walked away from my house and hopped in the car.

"Hey guys."

"Hey. How'd you sleep?"

"I had an...interesting dream. It was one of the ones that felt real but it wasn't."

"Damn. Those suck."

"They really do. Did you guys figure out what day, you can hangout?"

"Saturday's good. What time should we get you?"

"Maybe...around 12:00 and 12:45. We were thinking about going to the arcade."

"Okay."

"That works."

Lying to Sophie about not liking Skylar, was starting to kill me even more.

I felt like...

I was actually about to explode.

We got to school and River parked in the parking lot. I saw Sophie getting outta Carmella Carson's car.

That's who picked her up?

Great...

Her hanging out with her wasn't just part of the dream?

I met Sophie by her locker. She seemed nervous.

"Hey. Are you okay?"

"I-I'm gonna talk to him. Can you come with me?"

"Hell yeah!"

We found River and Skylar at River's locker. We walked up to them.

"Bolt? Ca-can you and me go out sometime?"

"As friends or as a date?"

"A date."

"Oh um...I'm really sorry but...I'm not interested in you like that."

Sophie's hands balled into fists.

"Thanks for nothing Alixa!"

She stormed away.

I was absolutely crushed.

My plan had completely failed. I was close to crying. Skylar used his index finger to lift my head up.

"I'm extremely sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you."

"It's not your fault. It's mine. My plan failed."

"Oh? So we were right?"

"You figured it out?"

"Yeah. It took a few days but we did."

"Can...can we still go to the arcade? I like spending time with the both of you. It might make me feel a little bit better."

"Definitely."

I was absolutely miserable all day. I was completely convinced, my plan would work. I found her at her locker after school.

She was with Carmella Davis again.

"Sophie? I'm really sorry."

"Oh look. It's the failure."

"W-what?"

"You're such a fuck up. I can't stand to be around you anymore."

Carmella started laughing.

I felt like crying.

"Besides...look at you! Your hips are way too wide! Your body is totally ugly! I can't be around someone as ugly as you!"

I looked down. I heard someone clear their throat.

"What the fuck did you just tell her?"

I looked over my shoulder. I saw Skylar and River.

"You heard me."

"Her body's beautiful. It's actually perfect in my opinion."
