Chapter 16

Skylar's POV
She started opening her eyes.

"Hey baby. Do you want me to help you take a bath quickly or do you want to do that in the morning?"

"You're gonna have to help me. I'm exhausted."

I went to the bathroom with a bathtub in it. I turned the water on to let it heat up. I put her mini backpack and her shopping bags from the amusement park, in my room, on the floor. I grabbed some of my clothes and put them on the bathroom counter. I grabbed a pair of underwear that, she keeps in a drawer in my room. I put that on top of my clothes.

I walked back downstairs and picked Alixa up again.

"C'mon darling. Let's get you a quick bath."

I started walking to the bathroom with the bathtub. I  took her hair out of the ponytail. I grabbed her spare hairbrush and started brushing her hair. I helped her take a quick bath then dried her off. I helped her get dressed. I picked her up and carried her to my bed.

I put her down then tucked her in.

"Goodnight sweetheart. See you in the morning."

I went into her bags and took out all of the new clothes. I took the tags off then threw them into the washing machine.

"Sky Sky?"

I turned around and saw my baby brother.

"Hey. What're you doing up this late, Cody?"

"I wanted some water."

"Ah. Okay."

"How was the amusement park?"

"Good. Were you good for Riv today?"

"Yeah."

Our parents went on a second honeymoon for their anniversary. That meant...me and River were in charge of everything.

I gave Cody some water then he went back to bed. I grabbed a snack and ate it while standing in the kitchen. I drank some water then went to get ready for bed.

A few months later, I had to pick Alixa up early. Her mom opened the door.

"Ah. There you are."

"Hey Masie."

I walked in then her mom locked the front door.

"She might've gone back to sleep. She had a bit of a tough night."

"Was the baby bothering her?"

"I don't think so."

"Okay. I'll go check on her."

I walked to her room then knocked on the door.

"Ali? It's me. Are you awake?"

She opened her bedroom door.

"Hey baby. I heard you had a bad night."

"Before you say anything...your little princess didn't keep me up. I went to bed early and it messed me up."

"Speaking of her, ready to go check on her?"

"Mhm! I'm really excited!"

I put my hand on her stomach. I felt Rosaria moving.

"Hey princess. Time to go see the doctor."

We got in my car and I drove to the doctor's office.

"Everything looks great. She looks very healthy."

The next day, me, her, and River met a few friends at my locker. I opened my locker and started doing what I needed to.

"How's my niece?"

"She's prefect."

"You?"

"I'm pretty good. I'm just excited for her to get here."
