It was the 5 years anniversary of Lucy Chen transferring to the Midwilshere station. Tim remembered that day good. Lucy Chen was no unknown name under police officers. In her old station in Hollywood, she had been abducted from Rosalin Dyer. But that wasn't the only thing. Just one and a half years, after finishing her rookie time, she became a TO. After she had finished her first rookie, she had transferred to Midwilshere. Nobody really knew why, but they hadn't asked too.

And when the 28-year-old woman entered the rolecall room one day before the rookie day, Tim was actually noisey on the young TO. She had introduced herself very kindly and sunshiny, what kinda surprised Tim. With the stories you heard, he had thought that she was a hardass, just like his best friend Angela, but she wasn't.

In the next year, when they got their rookies, he knew it was just her second. He was a little skeptical about her methods. She never yelled at her rookie or were really strict with them, but when Tim told her that, he had met a new side of Lucy. A side, he shouldn't push too much. Because Lucy could get angry, she just normally didn't do it. And from that day on, he had accepted her better. But when the rookie year ended, he couldn't help but take a shift with her former rookie. He had to admit, after how she had seen her teaching, he thought that Max Bustley would scare a bit at him yelling or his famous "I've been shot!" test, but he didn't. He handled it better than expected, but when Bradford asked after Chens methods to teach her rookies, he just shook her head with a smirk.

After a bit of time, he had accepted that he maybe would never know how she teached them, but her rookies were good cops, so he didn't care.

But after that little rough start, Lucy Chen and Tim Bradford had gotten to know each other better. And after two years the ice was broken. They were friends, then best friends, what sometimes brought them into funny situations. Because if a man and a woman are best friends, always hanging around with each other, let the gossip flood. So one time, they had gotten back from their shifts, Grey called them into his office and asked with a serious expression if they were sleeping with each other. As the answer had, he got two grown officers who burst out in laughter right in front of him. And their minds were just like, "us sleeping together? Never!"

But the best thing happened one year ago. When Lucy got kicked out of her flat, it was no question that she could stay at Tim's until she found something new. But Lucy never found something new, well after one month of looking, she had actually stopped searching. After three months at Tim's, they both realized that they had moved in together, and it worked well. They had to admit that they were very dynamic in their routines from the first day on. After six months, Tim had even got Lucy to the point that she went on his daily run with him in the morning.

So they days looked normally like this. They got up, weared their sport clothes, went jogging, came back showered, got ready for work, drove to the backer, ate breakfast in the car, and arrived at the station. Then they went on shift with their rookies and went to the gym together, sometimes with little fight sessions between them, they drove home and spent their time together.

Things like dates didn't really exist. Just one time, Tim had brought home a date, but it didn't go well, so Lucy and him spent the rest of the night joking about her.

Tim and Lucy couldn't denial but enjoyed this life together. Maybe, but just maybe they actually did feel a little more than friendship, but just wiped it aside with the comment in their head. "The part is so tiny, I can just ignore it." Of course, it had crossed the thought too, that the didn't think the other one feels the same way, but nobody of them would admit that. Not to somebody else and not to themselves.

Well, this morning, Tim stood up and a bit earlier, bought Lucy her favorite cupcake, and put in a candle that looked like a five. After blowing it on, he walked over to her room. Stepping in, he couldn't help but smile at the sight of her laying in her bed. She wasn't made for this morning. Even when they had gone for walks for longer now, he still had to call her three times until she eventually came slowly out of her room. He sounded annoyed when he had to do that, but secretly, he liked the sight of her all sleepy, rubbing her eyes and having a light blush on her cheeks. Honestly, he found it extremely cute.

He gripped her shoulder and carefully shook her until she opened her eyes slowly.

"Morning, sleepyhead."

He stroked a strand of her soft curly hair back behind her head before she sat up and offered him a sleepy smirk.

"So you remembered?"

"Of course I did!"

Lucy blew out the little candle on her favorite cupcake. Of course, he didn't forget it, and of course, he bought her favorite cupcake. She then looked up at him and couldn't help but smile at the sight of him smiling at her.

After that sweet gesture, they got ready for work, like always in perfect dynamic.

"Lucy, hurry up!"

"Timm! Why do we have to be in the car earlier than usal?"

Tim just smirked to himself, knowing that she would like this little surprise he kept open for her. What means surprise... surprises.

"Just... hurry up!"

Even when Tim couldn't see Lucy, he just could imagine too well how she rolled her eyes.

But after a few more moments, she came out of the bathroom, looking as beautiful as always.

"Nice choice."

Tim told her when he noticed that she had weared something special for this day. A dark red blouse, dark blue jeans, black high heels, a golden chain, and matching earrings. Her curly brown hair hung soft down on her chest.

"I know."

She smirked widely at him before throwing the bag over her shoulder and walking in the direction of the door.

Tim followed her and sat, like always, down into the driver's seat.

In comfortable silence, they drove to a little coffee shop. It was another one than the one they normally visited for breakfast. Tim went in and got Lucy, her favorite breakfast. Scrambled eggs, French toast, and hot chocolate. Tim had a good idea about that. Lucy loved it. It was something else than the bagles. With a sweet giggle, how Tim found, she offered him a greatful smile and a warm hug.

When they arrived at the station, they still sat in the truck for a little moment.

"Remember the first time you really talked to me?"
Tim had to laugh.

"Of course... I thought you were too soft with your rookies, but then I learned that you can be different if you want to. You yelled at me so loud that the whole station could hear it!"

"Yes, and then you accepted me better. But still, when I finished my first Rookie, you had to test him!"

"Uh.. oh... you knew that?"

"Of course, dumbass now let's go in, or we will be late."

They both were in a great mood when they walked into the station, just as Tim covored Lucy's eyes with his Hands. She gasped, surprised before Tim brought her into the breakroom.

"Surprise!"
Everyone yelled when Tim uncovored her eyes again, and because she was Lucy, she couldn't help but giggle from luck. She got a few tight and warm hugs, but still, she felt a little fear in her chest. She hoped desperately that nobody would ask for the reason why she had transferred.

Nobody could know the reason.

Nobody.
