Choso offered to take you clubbing the following day as a ways to cheer you up after your mutually difficult night. He assured you that you didn't have to go along if you weren't comfortable but to his surprise you happily agreed to go with him.
Looking forward to your eventful night, you try your best to stay focused at work. However, flashbacks of yesterday's conversation pop into your mind every now and then, causing you to frequently lose yourself in thought.
"You okay, Y/N?" Megumi asks you, looking over at you as he carefully folds the silverware into a white napkin.
"I'm alright." You respond, not giving much of an explanation.
"Haven't talked much tonight." He remarks with a tone of concern. "Are you sure?"
You look over at him and nod with a smile. He shrugs and smiles back, picking up his basket full of freshly cleaned and wrapped silverware.
After he sets it down at the hosting station, he comes back over to you. Silently standing by your side for a moment before bringing something to your attention.
"I didn't wanna tell you, but that Gojo guy stopped by here before you came in." Megumi explains, his nose twitching at his voluntary mention of Gojo.
Megumi must've worked the afternoon shift as well, probably the reason why he was able to see Gojo here before you arrived.
"Yeah?" You respond flatly, not wanting to concern yourself with him at the moment. "He say anything?"
"Not much." Megumi says, crossing his arms. He looks to the side, scratching the back of his. "I wasn't really listening, though. The sound of his voice rubs me the wrong way."
You chuckle at his honesty and shake your head, reassuring him that it's not much of a big deal. However, your lack of a larger reaction surprises him.
"Finally giving up on him?" Megumi asked, enticed by your hesitancy towards the subject.
"In a way." You bite at your cheek, leaning your head from left to right.
There's truth behind your words. You've grown tired of getting frustrated, waiting for Gojo to sweep you off your feet. You came to realize that your expectations were much too high for a cheeky guy like him.
The restaurant has been slow since you got here, allowing you and Megumi to delve into conversation uninterrupted. The clock above the door reads 10:15. Your manager comes out of the kitchen, waving at you and Megumi.
"Hey, you two. Kitchen's closing up for the night." He explains. "Seeing as that neither of you have tables, why don't you head home early tonight?"
Both yours and Megumi's expression changes to delightful relief. It's been quite a long time since you were able to leave work early due to lack of customers. It's a bit odd considering it's a Friday night but neither of you want to question it out of fear of passing up a great opportunity.
As Megumi packs up his things to leave, he says goodbye to you and wish you a goodnight. You head into the bathroom, changing into an outfit you brought along as a change of clothes for clubbing. A pair of nicely fitting, semi ripped jeans and with a mesh crop top. As you change your clothes and look in the mirror, you notice just how much skin the shirt reveals but you simply shrug it off and head out the door.
Once you exit the restaurant, you see Choso leaning against the wall as per usual. Though, he seems to be about ten minutes early. He raises his eyebrows at you, surprised that you're off work so soon but he doesn't question it.
