when you came into my life I could never imagine you leaving
I romanticized you
you treated me like I wasn't worth keeping
but I romanticized youit's been a year now, i've been clean for so long
I still remember the fights, the tears, our songthe thing about healing is that the scars never go away
but they fade
a small pink line
barely noticeable unless you're looking for the painthe hurt, the heartbreak, the pain, with time replaced by sentiment and fond memories, and finally no more blame
it's okay if you forget me
forget my kisses on your skin
my fingers in your hair
it's okay if you don't miss me
our conversations, a love more fulfilling than you could bearit's okay if you forget me
because i'm forgetting you too
